Okay so i've tried searching the forums and everything and want to get some other opinions.

car is a 90 Talon TSI bought roughly a year ago and everything worked great, roughly 6 months ago the blower motor just stopped working out of no where, doesnt work in any switch position. Now that its winter i need to get this figured out. I initially checked the power at the motor with a multimeter to find out that i have power at the motor but no ground so just to test it i ran a wire from the ground to the chassis and the blower motor kicked on, now it did turn on but even on with the switch in the off position. I've since changed all fuses, relays, and resisters all from another working 92 GSX that i have.

So my question is what else could be wrong? I've check all visible grounds around the blower motor to chassis and by the interior fuse panel and they are all fine. I'm puzzled why i have power but not ground and when i add ground i have full power at any switch position.

Okay so also around the same time the windshield wipers stopped working, checked the fuse and it was blown, went to put another in and the fuse blows immediately. I dont know if this has anything to do with the same issue that i'm having with my blower motor or not but i also need to figure out what is wrong as i have no windshield wipers currently.

Please let me know your opinions on the issues i'm having.

Thank You in advance.

no one huh?

I would check to see if the two share a common ground. Get a Chilton or a wiring diagram and double check those locations. It sounds like the ground for your blower is whacked. Could potentially be the resistor block. And your wipers are shorted to ground before the wiper motor if it's blowing upon install. Good luck on your hunt.

The blower switch provides the ground (through resistors on the non-high positions, but no resistor on the high). So either the switch is bad or the ground on the black wire to the switch is bad. Try grounding the black wire at the switch to find out which.

If a fuse blows immediately, you have a short. It will be somewhere before the wiper motor. I hate trying to find wiring issues, so good luck.

figured out the blower motor problem, after changing literally every resister, fuses, blower motor and relays i decided to check the switch itself turns out it came unplugged -_- go figure right.. havent had time to figure out the wiper issue yet obviously shorting out somewhere just dont know where to start.
