Have been offered this pretty interesting setup at a killer price from a guy I know. It's an Evo X turbo setup comprising of the following:
Evo X turbo
Manifold
Elbow/downpipe
All hoses (water, oil feed, oil drain)
HKS induction kit
Top J pipe

Looks pretty interesting as you can see from the pics. I'm just wondering how much of a bottleneck you think that Evo III manifold is going to be in the whole setup. It's the only real worry I have about the whole thing. even though it does appear a little ghetto. The guy was getting 420hp out of it with very little tuning and a whole bunch of torque.

Anyway, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated before I seal the deal :)

I'm sorry, Evo II manifold. Very little difference in design in the early Evo manis.

Cheers for the link. Read that thread a few months back; completely forgot he was using a modified Evo manifold for it.

Just to be sure, I hope you realize that Evo X turbo is comprised of a divided turbine housing, and that the bolt pattern on the flange is significantly different compared to the Evo I/II/III manifold. There's no way you can combine the two without making some sort of adjustment in the setup, whether that be a custom flange, a flange adapter, or another trick to combine the two different pieces together.

Of course. Hence why he has modified this manifold to work. You can see some of it on the 3rd pic if you look closely.

Its defiantly not an evo 1-3 manifold! As our flange sits closer to cylinder 1 and 4-9 sit closer to our cylinder 4 so its more likely going to be a modifies evo 9 manifold or a stock X mani!

what he is saying is the evo x manifold was reflanged with the evo 3 flange.

DOOO IT DAVE! so i can see what kind of results i can expect :)

The factory evo3 turbo flows more than the stock 10.

the compressor flows a few more lb/min yes but the turbine doesn't choke it at the top end like the 7cm turbine housing does. 12cm vs 7cm.

That turbo is a 20g compressor wheel away from awesome (i realize it still has the TD05 turbine wheel so more or less they have the same peak potential).
