Evo X bolt on manifold

I don't believe they're interchangeable with DSM CHRAs, would be nice if I'm wrong though.

I'd be very interested in this mani/o2 combo at the right price, I've been itching to put a twin scroll HTA71 on an auto setup.

I just sent the whole turbo to John at Forced Engineering so I cant not say for sure since I cant see it but, I've taken my td05h 20g, the one thats on sale via the classified ads, and it fit no problem. If I just change the cover, its a DSM turbo without the hotside.

Seems to me to be the same housing. Check out this thread:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/323777-1st-twin-scroll-20g-dsm-evo-10-turbo.html

that's why I want to have the evo10 housing machined for a td06h4 wheel and mate that with a 60-1 compressor or similar. Fast spool and a 65lbs wheel. Pretty much the old FP red with twinscroll and one less turbine blade (11).

John(forced engineering) - Can you mock a setup that uses a td06 style compressor cover?

Twinscroll 71 sounds nasty also, man all these variations do

to give you an idea of what i did, which was unequal length (don't mind the welds, they ain't pretty but they are strong LOL). Keep in mind this is in an evo 3 and i have alot less block to radiator space. I have a 20g compressor wheel/housing on mine with a 2.0L 9.3:1 CR, 272/280 HKS cams and i get awesome response.

Got the turbo in today. Getting the flanges figured out and ordering some metal most likely Monday!

We would need a manifold, downpipe, oil&water lines, turbo + Upgrades from FP. Mucho $$$$....................but, It would be an AWESOME set up. 500HP stock-appearing-twin-scroll-turbos FTMFW!

Looks familiar :thumb:

Good luck John

oil and coolant lines are the same for our DSM CHRA, we can use our existing ones with tweeking or using a aftermarket feed and return, both coolant and oil.

I am going to try to make this a kit. Guesstimated price on this kit will be 1300 bucks which will include the following:

Manifold, O2 housing, gaskets, oil drain kit, oil feed kit, and hardware.

Sounds about right. Its what I paid for my kit + 50$. Sept with a few diff parts. If that's the price range you should be able to sell them no problem granted you can make it fit correctly.

Good luck with it.

So the kit will be meant for internal wastegate correct? Anyone know what the stock evo x turbo is good to? Looking for 400-450 to the wheels with around 26-28psi. Holset does it easily of course, but I need something that spools faster. I'll be on e85. (Not benchracing, just not familiar with the potential of stock evo x turbos)

I had my EVO X tuned to 395hp on minimal mods, fmic, hard piping, bov.

Loved the spool on it.

Yes the factory EVO X turbo has made over 400whp on many setups. Plus it is easily up gradable to an 800 hp turbo. I believe the fp black has made 82X to the wheel. I am waiting on parts to show up to get the first one done and then we will release final price and get some orders coming.

I'll trade you a holset setup for it :p

:thumb: Sell the holset setup for what it would cost for this setup!

More like 748 wheel man, it's only a 68lb/min compressor, and that was with a single-scroll custom turbine housing.

Quote from sparktech:
The record doesnt count because it was done with a 10.5:1 2.4 that used GSC 156mm rods on a tuesday and thats not a 4G63 its a 4G64....

Who cares what turbine housing was on it. The charger still made over 800 hp regardless of any "compressor wheel/turbine housing" mods. Still 750+ is more than most will ever want to reach.

The Black's HTA82 wheel is listed at 68 lb/min, the HTA86 is 75 lb/min.

Ooops, edited my post for correctness.

My main point John, was that it won't make that much power and still bolt to the manifold you're creating. In all reality it is a 650whp turbo maxed out in that turbine housing. And it will never make 820whp, as you said above.

FP made a custom turbo for one team that made that much, but it is not in production and they have no plans of putting it into production.

There are other bolt on turbos that will do that, but they are from extreme tuners, a company that no one really trusts here in the US.

viperlp01 go for it! It's very cool to take an unwanted oem turbo and put it to work.

A direct comparison between the evo10 and evo3 turbo might be beneficial to those interested. I know if the 10 turbo is anything like the 9, then you'll have an awesome balance between power and spool. A very good choice in turbo.

And no one said the evo 3 16g could go 10.2 @ 133 through an auto with a shitty compressor wheel in a 2850lb car. The EVO 3 16g compressor wheel is rated at 43lb/min. Do the math....

So in REALITY the turbo will make more. We have made more than the chargers compressor wheel "says" it will make. Guessing we are making 480awhp(I know bench racing LOL) with a messed up compressor wheel that is 11.1hp/(lb/min)

FP black in a better turbine housing at the 11.1hp/(lb/min) should make at least 720 awhp. BUT enough bench racing already!:)

I may have a beta tester in the works to test fitment. Once he approves we will be in full swing to get this thing rolling.

It will bolt up to a factory downpipe. I would hate to have customers have to source out a fabricator for a downpipe local to them. It will also include some type of j pipe. With the craziness of the Evo x discharge we may have to modify the cover. But we will find out as we go.
