I am really thinking about making a bolt on EVO X turbo manifold. The turbos are cheap enough and are very potent and powerful. Similar spool to the popular dsm bolt on turbos but has the potential flow to make huge power. The FP black has made 8XX hp in the evo frame. I guess I am tring to see if there is some interest and if it would be worth it to us to spend the time to make this happen. Thanks for posting in advance!

The flanges for the EVO 8-10 are the same but the rotation is what changes. The rotation and design of the Evo 10 charger is the same as the DSM where the Evo 8/9 charger is backwards for our normal turbo position unless you take some crazy modifications to make it fit. Bolt on twin scroll turbo that can go from 400 in stock form to 850+ with FP stuff.

Only if you can build a matching o2 housing to stock style downpipe. If so, go for it. If not, its not worth the aggravation.

Very much plan on this!! The o2 housing is always a pain for people and it would be fab'd in the kit.

If the ten is the same for 8-9 then I already have a bolt on manifold, O2 & exhaust system laying on my bedroom floor. Custom oil drain and outlet pipe as well.

Or are you saying the ten is flipped from 8+9? Meaning if 8+9 on my mani faced the right side the 10 bolted to it would face opposite?

There would be ppl wanting it I'm sure as it would be another high powered low spooling turbo. I would be.

I am so interested in this. Currently mapping my build for after I install dsmlink. This is exactly what me and a local DSM group were very interested in.

If you make it they will come $$$

Well it looks like I need to find a Evo X turbo LOL.. I can make it a 2 bolt flange outlet of the o2 housing to dump directly into a "factory" position downpipe. Internal gate makes it even better from a fabricators stand point. I really think this turbo will be a awesome upgrade for the DSM. If someone wants to message me and be the beta I will offer a discount to help with overhead. If no one come forward I am looking for a Evo X charger today and will get some supplies coming. Thanks for the interest and I would like to build the first kit before I group buy it.

Now if only I still had my DSM to ship out to Michigan. Using the EVO X turbo is insanely awesome. I've always been jealous of the Evo guys and their stock frame turbos.

Hopefully I'll have another DSM by the time you're all done working on this. Great idea!

I have an evo 10 turbo thats been sitting here waiting for me to fab a manifold for it. (I can gladly send it to you).

It would be a great idea.

I personally want to run a 60-1 with a td06h4 wheel in the housing. New plus old FP read combo with a twinscroll houisng. YEA! Oh I plan on just using a downward firign cover, screw the evo 10 cover.

Do you guys know how these evo guys are running 35psi+ on the FP black and red (evo 10 style) with a flapper style wastgate? Do you guys plan on making one with two external provisions?

Also check out this video guys, it shows oem vs "others" evo 10 housing:

FWIW the Dsmshootout is no longer going to have a DST class. Instead they will have a SAT(stock appearing turbo) class. Buschur said that any stock appearing charger from any mitsubishi will be allowed. So to be competitive you have to run an EVO(ct9a or later) style charger.

Hopefully agentorange313 will send us the charger to make it easier on us for overhead. It would be a equal length, 1.25in runner, sch 10, twin scroll manifold with a custom o2 housing to bolt to a factory down pipe. We will also be making a "j pipe" to prevent a ton of modifications to the compressor cover to get it a down firing setup. I really like this idea and if I get another DD DSM I will def throwing this on my own car.

Is it still considered stock appearing if we change the compressor cover of the turbo?

And yes I can send it in. Do you need both the sides of the turbo or just the hotside? The CHRA is any standard rotation MHI CHRA for the td05h shaft sized wheels. I can send both if need be.

Do you plan on running it with the stock radiators? Will they get in the way? How about our fans, slim and stock? I was planning on running a a honda half style radiator anyway to save room and not have to worry about placement interference,

I would def need to whole charger and if I can make it fit with as much factory stuff as possible I will do it!!! I know running a full size radiator is vital in some parts of the country and not everyone has the budget for bad ass radiator setups with crazy fans. It will be experimental but I have built some crazy manifolds in some tight spots so I am sure I am the guy for the job.

The auto stuff will be vital as well. I am sure you could get a FP red or larger on the stall with a good tune in 5 secs.

With the mitsu chargers being so expensive these days do you really think it's worth it? Why not make an affordable t3 twin scroll housing for the holset line? Or any T3 really. I just can't justify the cost for the mitsu stuff anymore.

IMO The stock appearing turbo class would be the only application where this would be beneficial. Just thinking theres a larger market for an affordable T3 TS mani out there, not that a evo10 mani wouldn't be cool and all.

So Evo 10 turbos are 300-400 bucks... Internal wastegated, twin scroll, proven, packaged well, easily up-gradable. A good t3 twin scroll setup for a holset would need 2 wastegates, a custom o2 housing, modify the factory twin scroll housing because they are soo long, and dent the water pipe or remove a fan because the housings are so big. Don't get me wrong I like holsets but a Evo X charger is a much better choice for people thinking the hx35 or smaller. Most people just want a better option than the 16g and run 25ish psi and never max the charger out.

I have done a twin scroll t3 manifold for my brother with a 12cm^2 holset housing. Its a tight fit in there all together. Just because there footprint is so big especially with the factory housing.

I would guestimate that the manifolds would be a wash on price. By the time you get done purchasing 2 new wastegates, custom O2, turbo+rebuild, etc... I bet you're getting very close to the price of a upgraded EVOX turbo.

It really does seem like a viable option when you take into account all the supporting parts and mods needed.

I snagged the evo10 turbo I sent you guys for 250 on ebay, it has around 10k miles. I dont think people realize they are the same as DSM CHRA, after I typed that I felt like it could be false, but I have a feeling its not.

If there was a reputable aftermarket manufacturer of evo10 hotsides that would rock. We could just take a standard DSM CHRA and swap them.

if you can make the manifold for and o2 housing bolt on all for under 900 it would most likely replace bep holsets.

I don't believe they're interchangeable with DSM CHRAs, would be nice if I'm wrong though.

I'd be very interested in this mani/o2 combo at the right price, I've been itching to put a twin scroll HTA71 on an auto setup.
