Evo X bolt on manifold

not to doubt you buddy, but those pictures don't represent a evo 8/9 style turbo.

This is an evo9 turbo (or 8 not exactly sure), but the orientation of the turbo inlet, differs from the evo 10.

Notice how the longer "ear" of the flange is located on the bottom right, if viewed from above. In your picture of the manifold, if viewed with the flange facing down, the mounting ear would be on the wrong side of the flange.

If you had an evo 8/9 turbo with the hotside oriented to be on the driver side, like in DSMs, the turbo would have to sit this way.;

All the those SAT questions of rotating images and figures just came in handy LOL.

More interesting than anything else, is that manifold. It seems to me to have an 4g63 style exhaust flange, and an evo 10 turbo flange. Did MAP make your manifold?

^^^thats my kit LOL
But yeah that compressor cover is not an evo 8/9.

Wait a minute, your right.. My exhaust housing is different.. What the h3ll? This appears to be an evo10 hot side... uhh? I think im just gonna stop talking till I can figure out what I have in my own car.

EDIT: I should also add, This was a prototype turbo, that I was VERY luck to get my hands on. Called MAperformance and its an evo10 turbine housing, evo9 CHRA, and custom compressor blade and cover, only one ever built. Kinda neat i guess!

This sounds interesting - especially given the sexy new Evo X turbo upgrade that mitsu is coming out with. I'd like an update also.

How is this coming along? It's the only way to be even remotely competitive in SAT at the Shootout now.

Ya that's what we figured. It is on the back burner until we get someone to be the prototype tester. It sucks to not get rolling on this but if I had extra time I would mess with it. Too many customers to keep happy ATM

I would if the talon was together and you werent so far away. Shes a jackstand queen atm LOL. But im probably just gonna run my old evo 8 turbo setup with a 20g wheel since i have it already

I would be very interested to see this happen. I would also prefer a cast manifold but would settle for a tubular i suppose. For an autocross/roadrace application(which I'm assuming would be the majority interested in this) I prefer a compact cast coated manifold with a heat shield if at all possible. When the manifold is glowing orange I prefer it to be as far away from the radiator and fans as possible. Regardless, I am interested in seeing progress with this.:thumb:

Shit, now's the time to get back into the DSM game! Decisions Decisions...

Any updates on this. After a 2 year hiatus I'm about to start working on my gst and a twin scroll turbo has always been the idea. For those that were asking for the Evo 8/9 turbo facing the wrong direction revshift makes a manifold that takes care of this issue.

Revshift hasn't made that in over a year I believe and I don't think it was even any good. Trust me I searched all option almost two years ago till I found my solution.

They still make it for $749 but its a made to order part.

From what I heard on our local forum is that REVSHIFT no longer does fabrication like this. I am not positive but his business direction has changed. Still looking for someone to contact me about making this stuff.

Then I guess those of us who want twin scroll evo turbos are gonna have to wait on your kit or custom fab a manifold
