Emissions Removal? [Merged 8-8] taking off smog removing

I used to own an RX7 and I remember when we wanted to squeeze a but more power (down here in FL, no emissions check or requirements) we would remove the air pump and all emissions components, can I o that to my 95 Taslon TSi, are there any advantages and any writeups?

but the link dont work for me. Can someone ### give me an alternative site or post the diagram here. When i bought the car the owner befor me removed the emissions but i still got hoeses connected to solenoids that arent even used. ### help, getting sick of idle surge

You can run the wastegate to the turbo and eliminate the wastegate solenoid but then you will have low boost, whatever the wastegate opens at. The wastegate solenoid is acting as your boost controller right now, so I wouldn't remove it until you buy a boost controller.

i wanna know if if anyone has pic's or a how-to on removal emisson's stuff? i wanna do some free upgrades . Iam gonna be cutting the cat out an just putting in a straight pipe and so far thats all i have planed till i get my new axel in(cv joint is clicking goin around turns, and the tie rod end is worn out). So if anyone has any imput or links that i can use that would be great!

Youll definetely feel something from gutting the cat, if your looking into blocking off your egr, I recently have done mine with no problems, but that is a whole thread worth you can check out.

Bringing up an old thread. Has anyone played around with this more? I guess there's emissions problems but we don't have emissions checks here in Florida, and in New Hampshire they only check if your car is 96 or newer. I see the diagram but does anyone have a step by step on how to do this?

So after doing some more reading, pretty much the only useful thing to do is remove the cat converter?

i realize that some people think its a bad idea to eliminate the emissions stuff because they think the car wont run correct or perform correct without it, but before emission testing was required cars didnt have emission equipment on them. just my 2 cents
