So I've been a big hater toward DSM power steering for as long as I've had DSMs. Since seeing the commotion regarding EHPS conversions, I've looked and obviously nothing anywhere is cheap, and there's limited options. I was thinking what if the entire steering system got replaced by just an electric steering rack, pump (if that's included), and the steering column, ECU, and anything else. Would it just need to be a steering rack with the same length as the DSM steering rack? I'm aware (ahead of time) that this would be expensive and time consuming, and need a lot of modification to work, but that's all in time. For now, theoretically, I'm just seeing if it could work out. And if it can, well, there's already big plans on the horizon for my Spyder and this would follow since everything is being pulled out.

I've been through all those and even tech from Honda sites. I'm more concerned with an entire steering rack/ steering column swap out. Not just the steering pump. Plus an EPS system doesn't have a pump.

Does anyone know the length for the DSM steering rack?

No offense, but if you truly read through all of them then you would have seen that swapping an entire rack is pretty much a non-option.

Even sponsored/full-funded race cars didn't/couldn't find a way.

All I can say is good luck to you.

So what you're saying is that no RWD conversion on a DSM has anything besides a DSM rack.... I beg to differ.

Sure they do, but its an entirely different deal in the case of rwd swapped cars cause youre basically rebuilding the engine bay and making your own frame to mount the rack in front of the motor; putting a different rack into the factory k member is far more complicated. Why not just utilize the factory rack and install the electro hydraulic pump and be done with it? Otherwise, youll be on your own cause either noone has swapped a different rack into the factory frame, or whoever has done it just hasnt bothered to post any info on it.

With that in mind, maybe now everyone will understand why I'm asking....
