dsmlink on unmodded motor

I would imagine a GT35R is going to work your auto tranny to the point of problems.
You might want to research what the auto guys are doing for high HP on autos.

You can get the LC-1 wideband from Innovate Motorsports and hook it up thru the ecu input wire for the rear O2 sensor and not have a gauge.
Use dsmlink to turn off the rear o2 CEL and you're all good.
Like said before, WB's are used for WOT tuning, your Long Term Fuel Trims or (LTFT) take care of everything else.

Get a MAP sensor and wire that into the MDP sensor ecu input wire and you'll be able to log real boost, WB, and then you'll be rolling.

Using dsmlink on a stock motor is totally fine, just zero out the default global and deadtime settings and you should be all good.

Do you have access to the dsmlink forums?

Dsmlink is a great tool. It DOES NOT have a steep learning curve. And you DO NOT need a built engine to make 500whp. I just crack up anymore when people throw out horsepower numbers they would like to shoot for. Most people have never even been in a car that made over 250whp. V8 or not.

My car on a bone stock junk yard engine made 510fwhp. Needless to say, 500whp and FWD scared EVERYONE of my friends that rode in the car. Heck even my 450whp 1G scarred most people. I have another project that everyone gets to ride in and it is in the neighborhood of 630whp. No one asks for a second ride in that car.

350+whp is more than enough for most folks. Read the wiki, read the user guide, review the defualt data logs in the software. It is super easy to go crazy with.

Hey Steven you said "everyone", does that include me?

Tell you what storm trooper it seems a little confusing right now maybe it will be better when im ready to fully install which will be later this winter hopefully with the other pa guys to help.(pizza wings and beer on me)Haha...

I'll be wiring an AEM 5 bar map sensor, AEM IAT sensor, and Innovate LC-1 wideband into my brother's car running DSMlink hopefully this weekend. If you want, I can write down for you exactly what I do and make some simple wiring diagrams for you to follow.

Nah Fred. You drove the Colt. I am not sure you ever got to see the mirage. It was silver.

Steven

Yea man that would be great.

Sounds even better than the DSMlink party ROFL :thumb:

I'm always up for learning more (and especially with built engines and big turbos :sneaky:)!

Has to be on a weekend..Just let me know when.

You can go to DSMLink , and download the program for free.
Then once you have it installed, come back to tuners and do a search for .dat files.
Those are the uploaded log files from tuners that run DSMLink.
You can learn a lot from other peoples logs.
Also, the DSMLink Forum has a plethora of knowledge on how to run DSMLink and get your injectors dialed in.
It's really not that big of a deal...

Well to be honest im going with a gt35r turbo and all supporting mods if I hit 500hp great but say I run short with like 450 thats fine to but see if I don't set a goal I wont achieve it and have no plan and waste money. I don't know why everyone is saying that I don't need to build a motor I want to plus the condition of my other one isnt to good. I like learning about dsms. The way I look at it I could pay 1000 for a 20g but 1200 for a gt35r and if im gonna go im gonna go big.Unless i find a 20g td05 for cheap because they dont require a external wastegate so save a few buck then Ill go there but otherwise I want to go big.

Did you see FP's new 35r turbo. Says it has faster spool and lower end torque than the normal 35r. Litte pricey though for that.

Yea man that would be great.

My brother and I finally finished the wiring on his car. Here's what we did.

AEM 5 bar map sensor:
Red - ECU Pin 81 (Green w/yellow stripe)
Green - ECU Pin 73 (Light Green w/black stripe)
Black - Ground

AEM IAT sensor:
Black - ECU Pin 72 (Red/blue)
Black - Ground
(It doesn't matter which wire gets grounded or goes to the ECU)

Innovate LC-1 Wbo2:
Brown - ECU Pin 75 (white)
Red - Accessory power supply
Blue + white - Grounded using same crimp ring
Yellow - not used
Black - not used

Innovate XD-16 gauge:
Red - Accessory power supply
Black - Ground

This link shows all of the ECU wires: http://vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-2G.html

We put 4 distribution blocks under his passenger seat to organize all of the wiring - one each for accessory power, constant power, ground, and illumination. Also, his fan controller and the two relays for it are mounted there. Then, we cut a a slit in his carpet so the wiring can be accessed without having to pull up the carpet completely. With the seat in the forward and back positions, the wiring can be accessed decently, enough to change the settings on the fan controller.

Unfortunately, his car still isn't running. Stuff went wrong again :toobad:
