So am I confused or is the origional poster? I thought the studder box function was just to have a launch rev limit & had nothing to do with building boost? The antilag feature is for building boost without a load, is it not?

I believe you are correct, the studder box lowers the rev limiter for launching so you can step on the gas and it will hold it at a set RPM. The antilag is used to build boost with out a load.

You are all confused. A stutter box, 2 step, launch control, whatever you want to call it simply lowers the rev limit while the car is stationary. There are 2 main ways to accomplish this one is to cut spark as on the MSD boxes and the other is to cut fuel as on DSMlink and the Keydiver chips. As a side effect of the stutter it will produce some boost. How much will be determined by the size of the turbo. Smaller turbos will produce more on the 2 step alone since they are easier to spin. I can make about 5-7 psi on a 5250 stutter alone. Antilag retards timing Before Top Dead Center so that the spark occurs as the exhaust valves are already opening. This causes the hot combustion gases to spew into the manifold and through the turbine housing where they spool the turbo quickly. Using antilag I am able to get about 16-18 psi sitting still. I like the antilag at the track where my car sticks but on the street it usually just gets me sideways through 1st gear. I hope this post helps someone out there and if you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer. :thumb:
