Everything seems to be working fine...car is running very strong at only 10psi. However, I cannot engage the stutter box...no matter what. My idle switch seems to be working. When I put a test light on the bottom connector for the idle swith with the throttle place fully closed, it lights up...when throttle is open it goes out. I tested it to the fire wall and it does the same thing. I did hook up the wires for the stutter box operation according to http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu1g/clutchwire.htm and I have checked and rechecked and everything looks to be hooked up well. When I manually add power to the purple wire which is connected as shown in the pic...

I get a buzzing sound under the driver dash area. Could it be the clutch switch that is bad or has a bad connection? I can start the car with the pedal up...can I get this switch off any 90-94 DSM turbo or non turbo? Thanks for any suggestions.

Are you sure you cut the 104 wire and connected it to the new clutch wire? Or did you just splice it into it?

First off, the purple wire has nothing to do with the idle switch and shouldnt be connected to it. The purple wire connects to the clutch switch but if yours isnt operating correctly, you should know the stutter feature isnt going to work correctly either.

Its the keydiver stg III chip...I requested a launch rpm of 4500-5500. I realize the purple wire has nothing to do with the idle switch and is directly spliced into the green wire coming off the clutch switch connector. However, according to TMO's web page (which is linked to many times from dsmchips.com) a faulty idle switch is a common problem when the stutter box is not operating correctly. Strange thing is, that my clutch switch worked fine before the chip install/stutter box wiring mod; meaning I had to have the clutch in to start the car. As it stands now, it starts regardless of clutch position. With that said, its either a wiring issue (which I have checked over three times) or a clutch switch issue. So I'll ask again, are these clutch switches interchangeable between any etl 90-94? I have access to about 7 dsms that are junked. Thanks for the feedback.

If you have access to all these cars, then why are you sitting on a computer doing nothing about the problem? Go pull parts and see what works, then let us know what works so other people that have your problem will have a solution. It's going to take more time and more effort to ask a national forum that has no idea what your car even looks like, than to just go out and start wrenching.

Yes, all 1g clutch switches are the same, 1.8 n/t, 2.0 n/t, and 2.0 t all share the same switch as long as it is a manual tranny.

Then again, if its an auto, it wont have a clutch switch. (my lack of thinking) :shhh:

Im going to go ahead and say that the op figured his problem out already seeing as how his question was asked 6 years ago. Secondly the op has not visited the site since 2008.
