Well I just recently bought a car with this. I am wondering is it a tuning device and what is its purposed and advantages. I am taking my car to extreme to be dynoed tuned can they use this. It has a hookup 4 my labtop  . I also have a safc2

Ps. I am a noobbbiee

Is it Technomotive or Electromotive? If it has an actual TecIII standalone in it, then hell yes, you can tune the crap out of the car with it. There are many sensors that could or could not be hooked up, but make sure you have someone that knows TecII or TecIII tune it, cause it can be a PITA. :thumbdown

If it is Technomotive, I have no idea what that is. :|

Very likely a TMO Stage 3 chip in a EPROM ECU. Not really a "tuning" device.
The laptop connection would then be a datalogger cable.

I think that is what it is. I rember him saying you could set it up to use it like a stutter box. But what else can this thing do beside log data if any ?

Thanks for the website very helpful. I now no what it does but dont now how to adjust it. I have the plug in to my labtop but I dont have any software, do I need software? or do I just plug it in and everything is self explanitory?

Also I have a pretty good setup check out my profile It seems like a few people on here think that I should have more than a safc does this chip make up for it and will these things be sufficent for tunning ?

I no im lost

if its a stage 3 tmo chip then you cant adjust it at all. It comes with the setting already on the chip. Only thing you can tune with is simething like a S-AFC II or mess with the fuel pressure.

all features and settings are already there so if something is not "on" it either didnt come with it or there is a special way to activate them.

I thought that you could adjust the launch rpm and rpm inbetween shift points and a couple of other things. Also what is the plug up for my labtop just to monitor stuff.

I have the TMO stage 3 chip. You cannot hook a laptop to it. There is nothing to monitor. If you have any questions on how to use it, everything is on the site. It explains how to adjust the shutterbox..... (it is a series of taps on the gas pedal and clutch). That was a very bad-ass chip in it's day. It is still good, but there is better (DSMLink). Just study that site and you get to know how to use everything on it. :thumb:

Well There is a plug that comes out from under the console im guessing its runs from the ecu. On it, it has a sticker thats says technomotive data logger #0099. So what is this and how do I use it ?
