Dsmlink on windows 8

Tom told me there should be no issues running it on Windows 8. However, they aren't working on any projects to adapt it to Windows 8 (nothing really needed since it works) or to make it touch screen compatible.

Just wanted to point out that DSMLink is touch screen compatible as that is not a software issue. It however is not touch optimized so it may be a bit of a pain to use with touch only.

I know snowboarder is aware of this; just thought I might point that out for others that aren't so sure.

I am using Window 8 with Link and it works fine. Touch screen optimized doesn't matter too much because the touchscreens these days are pretty accurate. If you buy Windows 8 laptop/tablet make sure you buy one with a 32-bit or 64-bit processor (i3, i5, i7 etc.) DSMLink will not work on Windows 8 laptops/tablets with ARM processors (Tegra 3, Exynos, Snapdragon etc.).

Like Timechg stated it must be an actual PC. As long as it runs Windows 8 and not Windows RT then it will work.

The touch screen feature would work? I notice the touch screen ones only have I 5 processor unless you pay big bucks. Where for the same price I can get a non touch screen with a amd a10 and be better but I live the tablet feature but would it be worth it for dsmlink?

The touch screen really doesn't have anything to do with the processor. The Windows RT for instance does not have an x86 processor and is touch compatible.
