So i picked up an evo 8 ecu, working at getting a cable, but i thought id go ahead and install ecuflash to familiarize myself with. One setback. Will it work on windows 8? 8 is supposed to be built off of 7, and microsofts page says most apps will work on 8. Can anyone confirm this?

Try it and find out? Nothing bad can happen of it if you install it and it doesn't work.

True LOL. Ive just read that some people have been having trouble with 7, and was reading on openecu's forums about paralleling xp, but that was on a macbook. But thanks guys. Im sure yall will be seeing a post or two from me in the weeks to come, as im about to dive into ecuflash for the first time.....

I use flash on multiple 7 based computers with no problems. Just make sure when you get evoscan you just download version 2.7 and not 2.8 or 2.9 as they both suck.

You could always emulate XP with Sun's virtualbox or the microsoft PC emulator. When I start tuning, I'll be picking up a laptop that windows xp works on, can't even install it on mine.
