ECUflash Stomped on Ecuflash

The other day I couldn't get the cable to read. Well, I just got my 2.0 cable to read. After it reads the ecu this pops up. I press next but nothing happens.

That message is saying that your retrieving your stock rom from the ecu. You cant view it in ecuflash or edit it. Its just a file of the whole ecu. What i would recommend doing is saving that file and place it on your desktop. The only way you can edit anything is with ceddys rom from his website.

Don't use EvoScan to read/flash. I don't think it's working yet for the 98/99 ECU.

You should be able to download an XML file from the "I can read a 98/99 ECU" (Ceddy's original) thread that will work with your stock rom. You don't need Ceddymods to change simple things. Ceddymods just adds features.

Probably a really really stupid question but after i download the xml format how do I use it or what do I do with it. Just trying to walk before I can run. Thanks Wes!

On the second picture I'm having trouble with this. I right click it but it there's no options for saving. EDIT; i converted it to xml format... by "saving as"and putting it into ecuflash

Third picture is it suppose to be a hex file or a rom file

This is the updated link for ROMS.
ROMs & EcuFlash Defs « ceddy.us

Roms are *.bin or *.hex files.
Definitions aree *.xml files.

I'm not sure why your ecuflash executable is in the eclipse metadata folder.

Why does everyone want to edit there stock Roms?... It's not that hard.

But, why bother? Just save your stock Rom and Flash the newest Ceddy mods.

Open ecuflash, then go to file> open rom> c:/> program files> open ecu> ecuflash> romdata>mitsubishi>eclipse>20550011 xml

You shouldn't have to open the XMLs. When EcuFlash opens, it loads the list of available XMLs. You just open the BIN and HEX roms.

Is it the more retard the harder the launch/ higher psi spool?

regular launch control is a 2 step limiter, but antilag retards ign timing with afr control and puts hotter gases into the exhaust that actually may combust in the manifold/exhaust. These hotter gases allow more boost to be built even at lower rpms. (WARNING don't be that retard who gets on the antilag at every red light he stops at (say goodby mr. turbine...))

I have discipline. That's why I'm still in the game with a reliable dsm.

I had ign retard at -5, stationary at 3000rpm, start antilag at 2750. I was just peeling rubber. I have yet to lower it to -3 or even ..
I just want to learn more before messing with it to much. So back to search for me!
