im starting this forum like a poll. i want to know (and sure others too) how many of you tuners have actually gotten crank walk on there 2g and wanna hear all the people that havent. please just leave a reply if u have gotten it or not. thanx-greatly appreciated

just wanna see how common everyone makes it seem
 
My 95 GSX walked at 80,000 on the previous owner, which he turned around and installed a new factory block that I am still using at 120,000. If it walks again, I am definitaly going to put a 6 bolt in there.

I haven't checked endplay of it yet, cause quite frankley I'm too lazy. But, since it does have a ACT 2600, I will check soon enough.
 
I'm at 108,000 miles in my 1997 GSX, annd don't have any crankwalk symptons yet. I'm not saying that means it won't happen. :notgood:
 
Often when i read recommendations on what lightened flywheel to get with your aftermarket cluth, almost everyone recommend the Fidanza flywheel.. why?!
Im just about to start upgrading my gsx -99, and i think i have made up my mind to get the ACT2600 clutch and lightened flywheel combo.

Im just curious to why no one ever mentions ACT's flywheel?
Before summer arrives here in Sweden im puting in the evo3big16g turbo and EVERYTHING needed to support it to its fullest, leaving internals stock for now.

Offcourse i hope CW dosent showup, but if the ACT2600 only speeds up the the symptom, driving around with stock clutch is just ignoring the unavoidable.

I'm currently using the ACT 2100 clutch, and the ACT street light flywheel, and the combo works great. Both flywheels are great. I guess it's just a matter of your own preference. :)
 
97 GSX, 115000 miles no crankwalk. CF DF clutch on the last 50k miles. Medium level of mods. Now have the ability for 350whp and getting ready to put a ACT 2600 in. Lets keep the good luck rolling.:thumb:
 
100k crank walk like no tommorow, like a 1/4 of an inch, 1g 7 bolt modded, threw the motor in the trash and put in built 6 bolt no problems yet, 400whp on pump mild tune?
 
105,xxx crankwalk. my buddy sold it to me not knowing what happend to the car. its one of the cleanest 2g talons ive ever seen. Plus, he sold it to me for a grand. :thumb:
 
Just got my 98 Gsx And thought it ran good. It idled down like 200 rpm when I pushed clutch in but didnt pay attention to it. You can see my mods in profile. 50 miles after lots of money put in it and act 2600 it idled down 400 to 500 rpm and I didnt want to think it was crank walk. removed balance shafts and checked end play. about 3/16 to a 1/4 inch. Cleaned out oil pan to find the thrust side of bearing laying in the pan. Car just turned 77000.
 
97 gsx 68,000 mi 350 awhp and no crank walk yet... i have my local dsm shop check it everytime its there.
