im starting this forum like a poll. i want to know (and sure others too) how many of you tuners have actually gotten crank walk on there 2g and wanna hear all the people that havent. please just leave a reply if u have gotten it or not. thanx-greatly appreciated

just wanna see how common everyone makes it seem

I will definately go to PINA if mitsu doesnt nut up to the plate and drop me a new 6 bolt (if the crank has indeed gone south of cheese). I have an appt on sunday and the car will be checked out on tuesday. . I pray and I pray, or I will pay and pay!

95 gsx a/t.. motor walked at 130k after installing Big16G 10 miles after installation..
i replaced the motor with another 7bolt (my car is a/t) and theres a ticking noise OMG but.. its at the shop right now.. i think its only and exhaust leek.. has a vaccum leak too

my motor is walking right now but is still drivable its ticking came 2 weeks after the install of the ACT 2600 and im at 125K late 95 model. suxors ive replaced the crank angle sensor once becuase my car would not start becuase it was blown out. well see how long this 2nd cas lasts.... i have most of the parts for my 6bolt swap so i should get done before the main turd hits the fan....

my 96 awd has 114k on the clock, act 2600 for 1 1/2 years, decently modded. and i i definatly don't ####y foot it. no cw (i have checked the endplay on this one). unless cw jumps up on my outa no where i think i will be replacing my 7 bolt with a 6 bolt for fun/millage. i have a 6 bolt head and i plan to buy a block soon

my brother has a 95 gst with a few mods at 104K no cw (havn't checked endplay)

my best friend has a 97 tsi with a motor that i put in it out of the red gst in my sig(it was rolled) i think it has about 70k on it. no cw(havn't checked endplay)

110K on my bone stock 7 bolt in my GT30 56Trim 95 GSX. Running the infamous ACT 2600 and I beat on it hard every day.

My 97 GST walked right before I bought it. It had 65k on the clock.

The dealership put in a brand new shortblock. My fingers are crossed, but I'm now approaching 100k. :thumb:

The options should be:

95 m/t cw:
95 a/t cw:
96 m/t cw:

etc...
I haven't seen many people with a auto crankwalk.... just a thought.

/\ good point

118,124 miles and no CW (prays!) just bought it not that long ago - 95 tsi awd stock clutch, change the oil religiously tho. :talon:

ps - its a 5spd

41K and no CW yet. I'm crossing my fingers too. Yes its a manual with with some mods and a stock clutch but I beat the shiz out of that clutch daily. When it goes I'm getting a Fidanza 8lb billet flywheel and extagy stage 1 clutch.

Well....I'm at 54K in the 98 and so far no crank walk. When the clutch goes or i just feel like it (my setup wont be as demanding as some) I will probably go with the 2100. I'm pretty sure I wont get crank walk....please...no.

117,000 miles & going strong.
Purchased in March of 04 w/ 108K.
The first 95 GSX I bought
only had 30K miles on it.
Started showing signs @ 45,000.
Got rid of it before it got worse.
Both are 95 5spd AWDs.
:( 1 silver/ 1 black OMG

95 awd 5spd. 89k miles
ACT 2600
Driven pretty hard and no cw yet, but if it happens its just a good reason to build a 6bolt.

95 GS-T, 5 speed, CW 2x. I bought it originally from a little old lady who got CW at aprox 30-40K(comp stock), I bought it at 52K, hopped it up with typical mods, CFDF cluth. It did see the track and some street races, ok alot of them, and got CW again at 70K. I know its bad but I've been running around with CW for about 30K miles :shhh: (couldnt afforrd to fix at the time) but the motor was trash to me anyway and I just put in a 6bolt last weekend. Has anyone thought about disconnecting the sensor that forces you to start the car with the clutch in. Seems like startup would be rough on the crank for a second not having a good oil suppy yet....just a thought.

somebody mentioned autos. I thought autos didnt walk.

Manual cars crankwalk more often, but automatics are NOT immune from crankwalk! This just support my theory that heavy pressure clutches do not cause crankwalk, they just make it appear sooner.

I agree that it should have been there in the first place, but to add this option to the poll, after 3+ years and 400+ votes, would invalidate it

i have a 1997 and it hasnt walked yet as far as i know but im having some weird clutch problems so im thinking it may have happened. its just too cold to get under there to look. its under warranty so ill make the dealership check it out.

yes, one of the mods from the dead board recommended it highly. I did even though i have a 1G with very little chance CW.
