1G Can I prime oil through the head turbo oil feed?

About to fire up a freshly rebuilt motor, was wondering if I could prime the engine with oil through the turbo oil feed hole on the head.

Uhm, not really, be pretty hard too. Why not just spin the oil pump with a drill, since it's a fresh engine?

Can't you just unplug the injectors and turn the engine over a couple times to prime it? Or pull the fuel pump fuse? Or spin the oil pump if the timing belt isnt on yet?

I typically just prime through the OFH with a Barb fitting and a manual pump. Was just wondering if it would be possible to prime from the head but I doubt it.

If you're worried about the cams, I'm sure the assembly lube will protect them enough before pressurized oil reaches the head.

While I was assembling my motor and the vavle cover was off I poured oil directly in there. And primed my motor before hand and still running strong for the past 5 years .

All you have to do it crank the car with the CAS unplugged until the oil idiot light goes out, the system is primed at that point.

Yes you can but seems like a lot of screwing around. I always just unplug the cas and turn it over and look in the oil fill for fresh oil. Simple and no screwing around with adapting crap to the port.

*If* you have a pre-lube tank priming tool yes you can lube thru the head oil feed.
You just have top adapt it out to fit & seal.
That way you can prime it up right before initial crank.

Most road race cars I set up have an accusump system installed so they have a reservoir charge tank on board.
New motor time is easy prime after the tank is pressurized.

So if your spending big money on engines these tools are kinda cheap.
