2G Cam choices for a stock 7 bolt?

I have been looking through the forums but can't find a straight answer on what will fit. I'm not looking to make much power right now, it's more of a showcar. But I'm also not made of money, any cheap, but reliable cam choices?

Im running DKS 272 regrinds in my 97 and Im fairly happy with them. If given the chance, I would definitely spend the extra cash and get genuine HKS or FP cams if doing it again.

Keep your eye out on market place, and check with rix racing. I think they have a set of DKS 272 cams for sale right now...

Your profile says stock turbo. The money is best spent elsewhere. You don't need cams. No benefit.

FWD Spyder, auto, with stock cams, bigger injectors and a HX35 runs great. Maybe money spent elsewhere would be wiser, but that's up to you. My son's car ran that way.

They ran pitted? These are badly worn. I don't have pictures but I was getting the head cleaned and resurfaced and he said I definitely need new cams.

Then get a set of used stock ones.


Take some time and do some research is what I recommend. If it’s a show car people aren’t gonna care about the cams.

I've got limited time in a garage and didn't know I needed these until yesterday, I really just want to know if this set for less than 400 will work they are hks 272s.

Thank you for all the replies but I also haven't been able to find any stock cams or I would just go with that. If you know any trusted vendors I'd gladly grab some if they are as cheap, but rizz has those hks' right now. But I'd rather stay away from eBay and even marketplace sometimes because I don't know what I'm looking for .

Your call man. I have the stock cams out of my car if you need something cheap.

Sometimes moding a car is hard to see a starting and ending point. You do cams, you need to upgrade springs. Then you need to justify the cams with a larger turbo... then it keep snowballing. Ask me how I know.

Not sure which ones your referring to? Did you post a link to some cams or something?

No I had said earlier that I found some hks' 272 cams for less than 400 and if they fit they had been my cheapest option until recently
