These damn fake lifter ticks... thinking the exact same stuff you did eventually caused my motor to blow before my new one. I feel your pain my friend....

Man thanks for the laugh I can't get off the floorROFL. Okay, you are dead on. Its a shame that when we hear a noise that sounds like lifter tick the first thing we do is raise the engine or go for a drive and rev it a little high to see if the tick is going away. The problem is if it something else our way of trying to get what we think is lifter tick to go away is actually a method that is damaging the engine. FAKE LIFTER TICK IS A KILLER. Man if I can help with your new engine build if you chose that route just PM away:thumb:

What filter housing is that anyway? I mean, mitsu or aftermarket, if mitsu what year?

Would you still be able to put the oil filter there if you didn't relocate the alternator?

Any ports in that thing for an oil cooler?

Yeah you can put it there without relocating the alternator. Its an Oem filter housing that came on the Mighty Max truck. The Oem part number is MD122260.
It had one port but provision for you to tap for another if need be. The sandwich cooler has about 3 places already tapped for various oil related items. http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/oil-cooler-sandwich-block-adapter-20mm.aspx

Here is a good read on the forward facing filter. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/cyl...-facing-oil-filter-housing-merged-10-8-a.html

I am going to use a sandwich adapter once the engine is in the car to run the lines to the oil cooler.

I highly doubt it I will see if I have some. If not I will make two aluminum brackets after I get your manifold back from being powder coat shop. I still need to know what color you want to go with.
The same red color you have is fine! Thanks

For what it's worth man, it's the set backs that make you stronger!! I just realized that i have to pull my piston out because of the wrong type of clay i used to check for piston to valve clearance (after the oil pan was intalled and all the rods stretched for torque). It is stuff like that that kills people and it's stuff like that that makes people stronger!!

That, that don't kill you will eventually make you stronger anology here..

All I know this car better make break the cyclone record and when it said and done better make 700:D!$550.00 is lot of money to have to eat in the middle of a build like this:toobad:

Okay had a major set back I just knoticed that my erl manifold is cracked. And they will not warranty it. ERL performance or MAPerformance. Up the creek without a paddle:banghead: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turbo-system-tech/451467-erl-manifold-cracked.html#post153135696

Well since we know that the erl manifold is not up to the task. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...erl-manifold-dissapointing.html#post153136500 Let's move forward on this build! Here is the replacement.

Just read up on your little snafu. Sucks to hear. I have run into that "voids the warranty" issue a few times. Unfortunately the manufacturer almost always wins in these cases. But it's very common though that a manufacter would not want anyone to modify their product wether it be a car part or a electronic device. They no like it LOL.

Its all good the ramhorn will be ready to go on once I pick it back up from the ceramic shop!

I'm just trying to follow the leader! Kelstalon is his name!:thumb: I gotta figure out how to bring her down to ATL whenever I get her done. I'd love to see your car and I hope you break that cyclone record. Very inspiring Kel and keep up the good work! Always good info in your threads.:hellyeah:

We alway have several serious import shootouts ,Import showdowns, nopi nationals where its now a drag series. Many opportunities to visit the south. Beware there are a ton of V8 muscles here. On the southside of atlanta they are just ordinary. On the North side of atlanta they are on steriods. street covettes and viper putting out 1200whp DD. here is a dyno sheet of one of my boys daily driven vett!

Here is the thing the car made over 1100 ft lbs Tq the graph didn't pick it up because of a bad misfire. I rode in the car and its worst than any roller coaster I have ever been on as far as G-Force is concerned:D

C did you purchase that kit from ETS?

Yea Kels they were mad cool.

I had to send my turbo to them though so they could mock everything up. They built my TS T4 mani(1.5" runners) ,dual wastegate pipes and down pipe on a 2g car they have there. Guys name is Mike and he is cool as hell. Gave him a deposit and he started it right away and allowed me to pay it off before he sent it all back to me. I highly recommend ETS great bunch of guys. Borg Warner T4 Turbo I got last year feb 2k11 from Geoff at FullRace another great company with great guys.

I also bought the ETS big racing FMIC short route intercooler setup. Seems like alot of guys from www.evolutionm.net forums recommend these guys as well as fellas here. The mani build was not cheap though cost over 1k. ETS gave me a package deal on the mani and intercooler. Had this thing now sitting for almost two years now. Always different priorities and finally deciding to get it all done little at a time. This is one expensive as hell hobby so I have to just take it all as it comes and as I can do it. Rewarding though, and still need more stuff.:ohdamn:

Another crazy thing. I had this motor built by FFWD back during hurricane Katrina 2k5 and I'm only now starting to get her up and put her in the car,LOL krazee right!!!! Its been a slow process for me but I have to get this car running by spring of 2k13 is the goal. 7 year + building process!!!! WTF:D
So I'm just hoping with the cyclone mani setup ,TS setup,HKS 272's,Big intercooler this combo will give me some nice power all around especially down low with the built 2.0L. My fear was that the big turbo would kill my bottom end hence why I went this whole route.

Goals for this baby,Road racing at Pocono or any nearby roadrace track and a maybe some drag racing. We'll see!

Man that is awesome!!!!!! Ets has always been highly recommended by myself and many others in fact I purchased thier intercooler kit and it exceeded my quality standards by a long shot. Well you are doing it right if you can bear with me on porting your cyclone manifold trust me you will not have any regrets when I ship it back to you. I started a video process of the work I am doing on your manni and I will post it later. If I can help you in any other way in helping and guiding you in reaching your goals just let me know been around the block with these engines a few times I can help you avoid the pot holes that seem to be 4g63 common:p! So that you avoid some of the costly mistakes I have encounted!

Kels take your time with the mani. I still have to wait on the tranny. Hope to have it by January or February. I want to put both engine and tranny in at the same time so no pressure! I still have to get the clutch, crank pulley, swain coat the mani and turbine hsing, and figure out how to oil feed this turbo and drain it,I mean lots of stuff still to go.

Absolutely man. I will certainly be pulling on your sleeves for advice ,absolutely and I appreciate it.:thumb:

I agree with you that ETS is a great outfit. Also their buddies up the road at English Racing (Lucas English and friends).
Also Geoff at FullRace. He has had to take a lot of flack over in the evom forum because the EFR turbos are so late coming to reality, but he keeps coming back for more.

Your Borg Warner, that's a S300SX something isn't it? The compressor could have either a 60mm, 63mm, or 66mm inducer I think. Do you know which it is?
