After having my Tech, at Senca Auto in Germantown, MD looked thru the car. My lifters and rockers were the problem. Now, she's very quiet connsidering my other modifications on the car. I now, have new EVO8 or 3G lifters and rockers from Mitsubishi in the car. She'll be getting retuned on the dyno for MIR next week, where she'll be in the 10.00 index class. She's been 10.14 @146 thus far this year on street tires.

Question. At what power level would the 2g head need a port job? If all goes well next year i should have a 600+ hp engine built.

Also really like the build and thanks for documenting it all.

Unported 2g head 50 to 60lbs of air/min anything more then you should at the minimum look into cleaning up all the casting flaws matching gasket and doing all the other little tricks of porting a head. From what I have read once ported the head is good for up to 70 to 80lbs of air/min! next upgrade from there is 1g head where the sky is the limit;)

Here is one thing to keep in mind To my knowledge there are no original Mitsubishi engineers on Dsmtuners. With that being said you are going to find that most questions you have will be answered in time by your own experience with fooling around with these cars, making mistakes , having success and the likes. Questions about the 2g head has lead to some very heated debates on these board! Why heck I don't have a clue:ohdamn:

Now with all that being said Keltalon answer to your question would also be somewhere around 500 to 550whp then at that point you need to port that bad boy:cool:

Ok polished on housing a little bit more now I am happy.

I almost fell on the floor today in laughter! Why? I text this picture to a buddy of mine and that fool sent me a text back saying quote "That should add a 100 horsepower LOL" I could stop laughingROFL ! He later called me and said I need to be getting this engine in the car and show some numbers instead of polishing and fooling around!

that compressor housing is ultra sexy. The rebirth of NOPI National bring people a-game back. LOL

Ouch he mentioned your turbo and nopi in the same sentence! I wonder if your under car neons will hit the dyno rollers

God damn! That paint job looks absolutely filthy keltalon. :hellyeah:
Love the look. Ive always loved the black and red color combo:thumb:

Great thread man, not only entertaining but lots of good info. You have me wanting to pull my cams and timing belt off my motor and mod my old 1G lifters I have sitting under the bench in a box. It's already assembled though so I'll probably just rock it the way they are. The next engine though I'm definitely modding the 1G as you showed. Good luck reaching those goals.

Looks like BC did their homework. You should be a salesman! If i didn't have a set, i would buy those. I do the little things too, while waiting on parts. Makes the waiting go by faster, and you have time to do it right. Don't wanna rush anything just to hear it roar.

Yeah that rushing has cost me dearly over the years. There is still a few more items I am waiting on then this joker will be installed:cool: After I get her up and running I will do my fuel modifications:thumb:

keltalon those pics are super. Also I see you posted them as DSMtuners attachments which I thought at one time were crummy, so I was going to all the trouble of uploading my pics to Imageshack first "do not resize", then posting them here with "Insert Image". I would still do that if I wanted bigger than 600 x 450 pixels, but most pics don't need that. So thanks for the heads up.
