Aluminum Radiators

I need a new radiator and and didn't see any reviews. I want to know if there is any difference between aluminum radiators or is it just a brand preference?

I see Mishimoto, Koyo, CX Racing, Fluidyne, and ebay...

Which do you have and what are your thoughts?

If you buy from a reputable company like mishimoto or koyo they usually have better airflow. I know Koyo make a 3 core radiator that i'm going to buy but, im building mine for road racing. If you dont plan on racing it, any same size radiator will work really.

mishimoto just came out with there x line, three row system. I am currently testing out a Civic del sol half size core xline mishimotot on my DD 1g right now. Cooling is amazing, fan comes on more often but no over heating for a daily driver in New Jersey.

I ran the punishment racing radiator for a while, it was very good for the price. Good welds and perfect fitment. Installation was like 15 min if I can remember. I think draining the fluid was the longest part. I think ebay, cxracing, and punishment are all very similar in design and build

I also have had a flydine radiator, I personally would not get one just because of the price. Its far more than any other company I have seen. It is an amazing radiator but for the average person and daily driving/street racing, and some track use the mishimoto should be fine.

Youll need a better radiator to loose a lot of engine heat, like say you want to keep your a.c and you have a front mount, it would be best to upgrade your cooling system. Along with an oil cooler. But like obove me, same thing i would say, if you dont have many mods then theres no point, but that doesnt mean you cant get one. Have fun as well, get one id you want. Remember you get what you pay for. Brands are better

Most my friends run Mishimoto and have never heard complains. Install is quick and painless and cant beat the price.

CX Racing. I got mine (1g) for $180 shipped with dual slim fans and have not had any problems over heating all summer and I live in the desert. Install was super easy, the only thing I did was replace the o-ring on the drain plug. Bang for your buck it is the only one I would use.

The installation of my Punishment/CX radiator with dual fans and shroud was super-easy. The mounting tabs lined up perfectly and the radiator dropped right in. After being used for about a year now, my car has not everheated once and I haven't had a single leak even with a 1.3 bar (19 psi) radiator cap installed. It's been worth every penny spent.

the mechanic at my shop tells me that he had a few customers that had to switch from mishimoto to koyo because of leaks developing. I have a koyo and have not experienced any problems so far.

I've never heard of a Mishimoto developing premature leaks and their of a ton of members that have been running them for years and years on this site. Heck even the cheap cx racing ones don't leak.

I have a Koyo and no problems with it. It's the thickest 2g radiator I believe, so keep that in mind.

With the brands, there is more precision in making them. Some flow better than others. Some thicker than others. And then the quality of materials used. Really comes down to what the car is gonna be used for, the temperatures it'll see, and the money you wanta spend on it.

I have the dual core radiator and the car runs at 175 degrees during the summer. Its a great radiator and well made. Got it for 200 shipped!!!
