A true barn find

I know nothing about this car. I am looking to make a fun car out of it.

So now I wonder if that motor has ever had oil in it, wouldn't that assembly lube on the camshafts go away real fast once the motor is operational?

quick google search for BC springs and retainers - p/n 87095 - looks like titanium.

Pull the oil drain plug and see if anything comes out.
Depends on what assembly lube is/was used. I have a 15 yr old SBC in the corner if my garage that I just robbed the "break in" roller rockers off of and the assembly lube I use was still on the rockers and pushrods.
I'd re-lube everything with a good thick assembly lube. I use moly graphite myelf. Everyone has their own they like. It is looking like a very fresh find. Thanks for sharing the details!

Looks like a good find. I have a neighbor who has a 99 gsx 5spd. Jumped time 10+ years ago and has been collecting dust sense. Car has less then 75k miles on it. Sometimes you would be surprised what is hiding away in barns.

For sure that’s what I was thinking I can’t believe that my luck did me good for once.
