:thumb: i like it! Looks like you already got off to a good start on the engine. I really like it when these cars get rescued and put back on the road. Good luck with road ahead.

Thanks a lot guys I’m pretty pumped! Knowing nothing about the car other than what you can see where would you guys start ? The previous owners knew not one thing about it and wasn’t able to talk to the builder.

I'd start with an extensive cleaning of the engine bay, removing all the dirt and dust. Figure out what mods are on the car and go from there. If the car has DSMlink, I'd kick that fuel pump on and drain all that old fuel.

Compression test
leak down test
boost leak test ... Depending on those results I'd follow up with
new fuel
new plugs
coolant flush
oil change

So many things to do and check before attempting to fire it up.

Any idea how long it's been sitting?

Alright I’ll try some of that out. I checked the oil and coolant and both looked brand new but still planned on changing the oil. Luckily it doesn’t have any fuel in it. How do I check to see if it has Dsm link ? At least 4 years since last fired.

I second all of this:thumb:
You definitely want to see where you stand condition wise on the engine before firing up, you could avoid serious engine damage and extra costly repairs not to mention a massive headache, wasted time, and discouragement. Worst thing to do with a DSM is rushing. Take your time do your homework and proceed at a pace you can handle. Building this cars back up will require playing the waiting game alot for vital hard to find parts. Patients is key. There are DSM wizards here so you run into a snag ask around someone here will know how to fix your issue.

Yea, looks like car has Link then, we hope. I'd still take out the ecu and open it up, inspect for damage or anything odd.

You'll need the most current software on a laptop in order to access it: http://www.ecmtuning.com/downloads.php

Download the one that works with your operating system, and you'll also need the download from the "drivers" section.
Awesome I will look into that and get back on here. I just noticed you are from KC we are less than 2 hours apart. 🤙🏼 Small world.

I am about an hour away and visit MoKan with our DSM's and Camaro's as much as possible every year.
Nice find, I can't believe I hadn't discovered it. Get her ready to be "DRIVEN"! :thumb:

So now I wonder if that motor has ever had oil in it, wouldn't that assembly lube on the camshafts go away real fast once the motor is operational?

quick google search for BC springs and retainers - p/n 87095 - looks like titanium.

Pull the oil drain plug and see if anything comes out.

You would think. That’s awesome wonder how to check what cams they are ? It does have oil in it but looks fresh out of the container. The car was on blocks and the tires still had stickers the people said they never seen it move in the passed 12 years. Pretty insane.

It was left at these people’s property and they wanted it out of their way. I have no clue on anything else.

Do you have the title for the car? Seems like it could become a hairy situation.. depending on the details.

Crazy that something this heavily modded seems like it was abandoned. I wonder if something bad happened to the original owner...

It was the people’s son, I got it from a nice farmer family. I can’t see the numbers their on the underside. I’m going to check on that ecu shortly and let you know.
