So I got the beast on all fours. I love love love the look with the wheels. I will be putting my eclipse to the side for a bit to work on my friends GSX. I wanted to get all the paint work on my car done before I moved his in to work on it.

Things left to do on mine:

-Fusebox relocation/tidy up
-Install all Brembo brakes
-Torque all suspension bolts/paint marker them
-Install all my goodies up front
-wire gauges

I'm wrapping up the fusebox relocation right now also. De-loomed the whole thing, then I will place it in the correct spot and then lengthen/shorten individual plugs accordingly. Pretty simple.

Sure will! I've got a good idea of how to make mounting points for the box itself to the passenger frame rail. The problem I think i'm going to encounter is the main harness is way too long, meaning i will have about a foot of extra harness coiled up somewhere... We will see..

So I started on the wiring harness.

I get a lot of questions on stuff like this, so I would like to explain my process as far as wiring goes.

I like to first label every plug that I use. This is done with the car in 100% working order. Label all the plugs, if you don't use a certain plug, label it "UN-USED". This prevents the confusion "oh shit, did the label fall off of this one? Or do I just not use it...." etc etc.

So after everything is labeled, you can remove the harness from the car.

Once removed, de-loom the entire thing, and then remove all electrical tape.

The goal is to create a single "main" harness. The reason for this is you need to route the "main" harness (part which every plug leads back to.

You can see the harness is removed and pretty much bare in this picture.

I've had my box in the glovebox before etc etc but I like this spot. I've never had any problems with moisture etc ( I don't drive in the rain) and there is tons of room and you can do this to a stock harness with MINIMAL work compared to exteneding to the glovebox.

This is the little bracket I made to mount the fusebox. The other side was the existing hole from factory that was used to mount the fusebox.

I apologize I don't have pictures but I didn't think a picture of wires would do much for help.

So I just route the "main" harness using zipties where I would like to run it permanently. Then plug in everything. If some things need to be extended, just solder in some extra wire for the plug to reach.

At this point I am using little bits of electrical tape to keep everything tight to the "main" harness.

Once you have everything trimmed/ lengthened / routed. Make sure everything works!

Now this is where I like to add a decent amount of electrical tape to "hold the shape" of the harness. Basically I want to get all the curves permanently curved by the use of electrical tape. If you've ever wrapped a harness with tape you will understand that it holds its shape if you wrap the thing tightly.

You can see the harness on the fender liner in the right of this pic. I ended up with about 2' of extra "main" harness. Instead of cutting and soldering 60+ times, I just folded the harness over on itself here. My harness is very small compared to stock so this ended up not being as thick as you'd think.

I also replaced the shifter cables. Mine were on the left. they were bad.

A list of the plugs left on my fusebox harness are as follows:

P. Headlight
D. Headlight
P. Turn signal
D. Turn signal
P. Foglight
D. Foglight
P. Sidemarker
D. Sidemarker
Rad Fan
Main Engine Plug
Alternator
Alternator Power

Everything else has been removed/de-pinned from interior plugs and fusebox.

Oh absolutely, you will just have a 2' of harness coiled up if you do it correctly. I think you can very easily put the harness down there without even removing the harness from the lower rad support area. No problem.

How did you get your trans so clean for paint. I can't get in all those little crevices very well. Sand Blast?

Just a lot of brushes. Harbor Freight sells a lot of different shaped brushes. I had no problem getting into all the little crevices, just takes a lot of time obviously. Probably used 5 rolls of paper towels and a full bottle of degreaser.

My fuse box is in the same spot but mounted vertically using the factory bracket and the mounting holes for what was used for something else I can't remember at the moment .

My car sits just as low as yours and with my one off custom carbon fiber lip I'm very careful of how and where I drive my car.

So I finally got my valve cover back from powdercoat, I had the comworks baffles welded in, as well as the screw on oil cap. Came out great! Love the jolly rancher red. Not sure if I'm going to get anything else in the bay done to match. Idk yet.

I got started on sanding the letters down, i love the machined letters look versus the powercoated letters.

Next I installed my JMF Race intake manifold. It's the new one with the billet runner design. Thing is badass. I noticed the polish job from JMF was not the best so I hit it with some polish for a bit and bam!

I put my 74mm S90 on to check things out. I need to mount my fuelab AFPR so I'm trying to figure that out. Also have to mount my coil packs to something under the manifold so I'm checking how much room I have back here.

I'm going to order my t3 hx40 turbine housing this week so I can mock up the turbo and get my drain line figured out. Also get all the water piping/tstat housing stuff installed.

I use this as well. I also still have kept my A/C with the bracket but if you don't care about A/C it will make life that much easier.
