i was installing a oil pressure sending unit that i got from GLOWSHIFT along with a gauge and the sending unit was too big for the hole on the OFH , and it split in two pieces !!!!! they told me it was a direct fitment anyway can someone post the tec guide for this or give me some instructions please .... i cant seem to find any directions on the forum ...

thanks, THE NEWBIE :banghead:

i just need instructions on how to replace the oil filter housing , seems easy but would like to make sure i dont forget anything

Also be aware of the oil cooler lines, if so equipped. If these exist and depending on the housing, they will be either filled with coolant or oil and you might consider draining the necessary fluid to reduce the mess.

Based on your vehicle information, you are more likely to have coolant. I wouldn't worry about draining it from the radiator, simply undo one of the hoses leading to the cooler on the housing and let it drain from there.

Thanks for the speedy response guys , getting to the fourth bolt guna be tuff ? Anyone have any experience with it

Yeah, just take the timing cover off, there is nothing tough about it at all. Some people unbolt the timing cover and flex it out to get the bolt out, but this can break the timing cover.

I also just flexed the cover back enough to get the bolt out and did not break anything.. Just have to be careful.

So does the crank pulley have to come off too ?

So I can take off all four bolts and not have to do anything but remove the t cover and bend it back ?

For more room the crank pulley will need to come off. As i said, some people will just take a few timing cover bolts out than flex the cover back. If your timing cover is in good condition this will work, if it is old and brittle than it can snap off, than you will need a new cover. It will take you literally 30-45 minuted to remove the timing cover. Remove the ac, ps, and alt/wp belts. Remove the motor mount, pull the upper cover, remove the water pump pullies, remove the crank pulley, remove the ac tensioner, from there just unbolt the timing cover and remove it. Probably wouldn't be a bad time to throw a new timing belt on there if it hasn't been changed in a while.

What part are you stuck on? Getting the belt off or getting ac tensioner off

As in you can't get the A/C belt off?

Before anything else, make sure you can find a way to break the water pump pulley bolts loose. If not, put the alternator belt back on and break them loose. They and the pulleys can be removed which would also allow you to remove the power steering belt.

Referring to the diagram in the link provided, break A loose enough and then loosen B to relieve tension from the belt. Remove A to pull the tensioner out.

Put a 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet in the crank pulley bolt. Go around the four small bolts and remove them. Remove the crank pulley.

Rotate the power steering pump pulley so the holes in the pulley match up with the bolts on the pump. Break these loose. There will also be two bolts on the backside of the pulley that will need to be loosened. Push the pump towards the firewall so you can slip the belt on when reinstalling.

Remove the timing cover and proceed with OFH replacement.
