Resolved 2G Oil Filter Housing Coolant Line

On my 96 GST, is it normal to have a two piece metal line running from the thermostat housing down to the oil filter housing with a rubber hose in between them down by the oil filter. Is it possible to purchase a one piece line?

That's stock and mine is the same. Not much you can do unless you change the OFH to an external cooler type housing.

what is the purpose of the rubber hose, the two metal lines don't line up in front of each other, they are offset.
