Honestly I have no clue. This was the used 95-96 gearset I snagged so unknown life really. It could have been an issue with it there or it could be just torque. Who knows.Jesus. Can’t watch the video as I’m at work, but how does that happen? Just raw power?

Just rolled into 3rd and pretty much as soon as it hit peak boost, she gone.
So I think I figured out why it broke...Jesus. Can’t watch the video as I’m at work, but how does that happen? Just raw power?
It's so much worse than I thought fellas. Just about everything needs replaced. It seems that 3rd shitted the bed and caused the gears to *likely* lock up and that's what snapped the input snout.

I've got a other set already actually. There's a bit more needed for the 90 gearset like center and or front diff / ring gears.I’m sure shipping would suuuuck but I’ve got a spare 90 trans…just swap the output shaft to a 23 spline one.
That's where I get my trans parts from.Don’t forget jack’s transmission’s still has a decent inventory of parts
yes and you wanna sponsor me oneSo that was an “HD” 3rd you shredded? Time for PPG
Definitely. It should be able to do a mid - low 5 second I think but depends on shifts honestly. I thought I shifted quick enough but apparently notThat’s flying!! That car should go deep into the 10s 1/4 with that 60-130. Looks like you could still shave a few tenths with those shifts. Awesome stuff!
thanks for the shout out on the boot!A few small things that I had done prior to 3rd gear yeeting itself into oblivion.
Debadged the rear, minus the Talon logo between the tail lights. Much better.

Picked up a new suede shift boot from @Jose gonzalez, looks great, fits great! I'd definitely recommend!

Made a little mount for my clutch slipper valve out of some steel sheet and snips. It's a little light but it should work fine. Need to order lines for it and figure out how to wire it ( it's a solenoid so it should just be 12v switched and a ground to the ECU)

It's funny and cool how many people reminisce about how they used to have one of these cars "back in the day" and I quote that because that's literally how they all say it.
I think for the next thing I wanna fix, is probably gonna be the mirror motors. I haven't dug into them really at all but I do know they don't work and the mirrors are floppy.
Flip them over in what way? On the backside of the actually mirror glass or the side that mounts to the door? Before you go crazy trying to fix it with new mirrors or etc, try what helped me. Flip the mirrors over and you should see a screw recessed in a hole. Tighten it. That fixed my issue, previously they were so floppy that the motors seemed like they did nothing. Afterwords, works like new. Worth a try!
As always, I adore your car. So jelly.

I'll definitely check that out!Take the whole mirror assembly, and turn it 180*. AKA look on the bottom of the assembly itself, on the outside. I think I have pictures in my build thread but gimme a few seconds, I gotta wade through almost 100 pages to find the one post.
Found 'em!

Circled in red is where I'm talking about. This is how it looks.

That's the screw.
Yeah I really wanted a Tig welder but same boat haha I could do a lot more fab stuff with a welder but can't turn down a free latheooo nice score on the lathe! I’ve been debating buying my own mill and lathe for years now, but keep blowing all my money on car parts instead
