Well I somehow managed to find an aftermarket replacement hose for the power steering suction hose.

Vendors website says it's "pipe to cooler" hose but it looks identical to the suction hose from Reservoir to pump.

Picked one up (cheap, $11 Amazon) and it's not identical but it's incrediblely close

HOSE

Forewarning for anyone that buys this hose, be prepared for an absolute battle putting it on. They claim its a 3/8 Barb but I'm not sure I've struggled with a hose this much ever.

Hopefully this solves my leaky pump issue that keeps killing my alts.

AWD swap the Blue shell and let me buy it from you so I can build a nice AWD auto. :p
Whatchu talkin bout willis.

It's already an AWD shell, unless you mean finish building it LOL

Did some small peas stuff yesterday.
Moved my can gauge from the center dash to the A pillar pod, moved oil pressure gauge back, cleaned up the cables behind the pod and kind of remolded the pillar pod to the pillar trim.

Heated it up with heat gun and then pressed the spots that had large gaps against the pillar trim. Turned out great. Used some more 3m tape to stick it real good to the pillar trim.

I also attempted to stick the rest of the A pillar trim back on. I didn't use any 3m Velcro this time but I used some latching Velcro stuff? I'm really not sure what it is but it's also a little bit thicker too so it actually seems to space the trim out more accurately as to how the clips would also. Only time will tell if it'll hold but so far it seems to be incredibly sturdy.

Anyone know where to find a radio pocket at? I'd like one. I can't seem to find the one that came with the blue car when I got it.

Well the oil pan showed up yesterday from Buschurs, final missing piece before everything can go back together since it's gotta be "clearanced" for the main studs.

The baffle they welded in is a bit different this time and includes an additional cover/ baffle. I'm assuming to keep the oil from sloshing out of the pickup area.

I really won't lie though, the fitment of it was pretty garbage. It definitely could be the pan itself, being a Spectre pan but that's all I've ever ran and they've all fit well. This one though, just would not line up right even after whacking it with a dead blow to clearance it for the main studs. Most holes were half off and the flange seemed like it didn't want to seat flat, acted like it was warped or something. I don't know if the baffle isn't in the right spot, or what. I probably messed with the pan for over an hour trying to get it to line up. I ended up just cleaning up all the flanges, RTV it with a nice thick bead (arguably too much) and only just starting all the bolts until they were ALL started and then finished tightening them down. No oil in it yet.

Got the trans mounted up, which fought me more than it usually does but it finally gave in and got in its home.

Tested out the shifter and ran into a few issues that I've already brought to Josh at JNZ and he's been helping me work through. The 3kgt shift lever hits the bottom of the shifter assembly horizontal "bucket" at the bottom. Fixed by just slightly bending out the bottom of the shift lever where the vertical cable goes. But then last night ran into another issue where the upper, lower half of the shift lever hits the frame/ cage of the shifter so I shaved that down and now everything clears just fine. I really won't lie though, I'm not sure this short shifter does anything as far as shorting the throw. It really doesn't feel like it. Going to measure and report back sometime after the car is back up and running. I'm hoping to get the car back on the ground today and at the very least started if not taken for a quick test drive. It's supposed to rain for like the next couple days and the new floaters need broken in so no ripskies :(

Took the dogs for a nice long walk yesterday and then got right to work afterwards and did exactly what I set out to do. Got the car finished up and took it for a test drive around a few blocks.

Couple things to note:
- Shifter is definitely shortened throw. My shifter "butt dyno" says probably 15-20% shorter feeling? I don't know why it didn't feel quite as different before the car ran but shifting while driving was a pretty dramatic difference. I do plan on taking some before and after measurements and pictures still. Usually when you get a short shifter the lever ratio is changed making it harder to shift, it is harder but extremely marginal. Only enough to barely register.
- Something with my oil pressure setup is goofed. It's got a new sensor, but the gauge reads 83 psi all the time. Even with just key on. Going to look into that and see what's going on there. Don't know if it's a gauge issue, or a sensor issue.
- Clutch pedal feel changed a little bit, and the clutch isn't so grabby. It's too soon to really tell for sure how it will feel going forward but I assume it's because now the load of the disks is spread out evenly in the floaters instead of just a small portion. Similar to switching from a full face clutch disk to a segmented or puck style disk.

All in all the car felt good. Im going to talk to Ken about lowering the idle to 1000-1100 rpm since I went back to the smaller alt pulley.
Checked this morning and I didn't see any leaks anywhere under the car, and the power steering doesn't seem to leaking either. Only time will tell.

Cannot express how jelly I am of you having a garage space to work on. And I second Jeremy's comment, but will add that I adore 1GAs.
I love having a garage but as always it's not big enough. My next house will have larger garage and maybe some land for a shop and I'll put a lift in there. That's the dream anyways. I definitely make use of the garage for sure.

Got me a new little goody deal. A new 360 camera with a mic adapter and mic.

Plan on using this setup for when I go out and do hoodrat things with my friends:D

Took the car for a quick test drive to test out the mic and the camera. Camera turned out pretty great but the mic is still pretty meh. It blocks our a lot of wind noise but also muffles a lot of sound also. Mic runs down the base of the rear window to be out of the wind. Im thinking of switching to a wireless mic setup that I can somehow mount behind the car, maybe to the license plate or inside the car.

With this shifter and the clutch it feels like a completely different car honestly. Feels 20 years newer LOL probably too early to really say but yeah the clutch feels pretty good. Doesn't bite as hard.

I'm driving the car as much as the weather will allow me to so that I can break this clutch in faster and get back to doing some ripskies and making some cool video to share with you guys. Record a few pulls and maybe set up some races with some local guys.

Nice score! That’s been my only complaint with my insta360, the wind noise. I’ll have to look into an external mic. But without a doubt the BEST way to record some racing!
