That's awesome! Best of luck with it all coming together. Everyone builds different, something's work for others and something's don't. As far as the build goes I only offer this tid bit of advice. Just take your time and don't rush, patience is key in any build :thumb:

thanks. i know everyone sets their build up differently and like it and sometimes they dont so they change it. i have been building the engine for the last 2.5 years almost three now. though i did research for 5 years prior to building the engine and planed out the set up and build before i started. as close as i am getting to finishing i really want to just swap it in already because the race season is starting soon but that wont happen with another $12K in parts to get and that will be about another year before its ready. id rather build it right the first time around so im not going to cut corners on this build and im using the best parts i can buy.

i installed the exhaust stud kit and cam tower stud kit from arp today. and compared the crank bolt and cam sprocket bolts from arp i was going to substitute from a 4g63 engine. come to find out the harmonic balancer bolt in my engine is longer than the 4g63 and same with the cam sprocket bolt kit. so i have these two ARP kits for sale for any 4g63 engine guys that are interested in purchasing these kits.

posted a new build video on youtube today of the install of the exhaust stud kit and cam tower stud kit.

started painting some engine brackets today. going to get the valve cover powder coated in a few weeks finally. still waiting on transmission to arrive.

I can't wait to see it finish. Turbo car is a turbo car and I know yours is going to be bad ass. Love your build man :thumb:

thanks for the compliment and im glad you like the build. though the motor was originally naturally aspirated. but i am building it to be forced induction. i can't wait to have it finished either but i still have a long ways to go.

Damn nice build man. Always nice to see an awesome 420a build! Good luck with it man, and continue to keep us updated! :thumb:

thanks. I know not a lot of people go for the 420a. but i am and i know it will be a good engine. took some of its weaknesses out of the equation. all thats left is some minor fuel components, electrical and control components and the tuning.

nice build tread interested in how it turns out. My 1st car was a 96 Rs eclipse with a mild comp motor i built wasnt all that fast but decent for a 420a. and pics or decisions on turbo manifold yet?

thanks for the compliment. i have actually decided to go with a tubular manifold. here's a link to the manifold:Xtreme Fabrications DSM 420A ProStreet Tubular Turbo Manifold [XF-420A-EM-B01] - $899.00 : XTREME Fabrications, Performance Services

i was originally going to use the obx ram horn manifold but decided against it sine the welds on it are really sh*ty. so i thought i might as well spen a little more than twice what it would cost for the obx manifold and get a stronger and better quality manifold instead.

transmission parts that are needed to finish my transmission is finally out of customs after 4 weeks or so. the first shipment is still in customs, re-ordered the parts and that order is in and out of customs like it was nothing. damn mexico customs :nono: :banghead:

just took the valve cover to get powder coated today, should be done in two weeks time. can't wait to see the finished product. ill post before and after photos when its finished.

Nice man . Yeah I would shy away from OBX personally haven't had the best of luck long term with them.

Thanks. For a while I wanted the obx turbo manifold then I started reading on it and found it to be a piece of sh*t. Obx intake manifolds are the same way. I'm just that much closer to finishing the engine build but still got paint and suspension to do once the engine is finished being tuned.

making a MAP adapter block to be able to add a hose barb since the intake i am using doesn't have a spot for the map sensor. also designing a custom fuel rail.

got a few more parts and some safety equipment for this years race season. got a new 5 point race harness since the one i am using now is expired. new harness shoulder pads. msd ignition box anti-vibration mounts, racing helmit (good until 2022), nomex hood sock, msd super conductor spark plug wires and another blow off valve horn insert.

here's a look at the fuel rail i am developing for the engine that i may have made.
i know i bought the AEM fuel rail, but the injector holes are too close together and may not work.
