I want to say it's that guy who was on one of those half dozen or so Candian-produced tuner shows that were on Speed Channel a couple years ago. I'd tell you his name and the name of the show, but both were forgettable. They always referred to him as something like "Sony recording artist (name)" and he would do a segment where he talked about some car like he was king shit.

It was lamepants.

I've wondered the same thing, with the sound being so much more high pitched. My guess is the head as well.
