Which turbo will be sufficient for consistent 11 second times? I've recently decided on a big 16g, but will that be big enough to run 11s with supporting mods and decent tuning? Remember, this is for a budget street car, so any one purchase over $1k is tough. A big 16g will run about $700-900, which is about $300-400 less than the larger alternatives.

Of course, I'll need lots of practice to run these times, but, I just want to make sure that it's possible before the money is spent.
 
i am going to upgrade my turbo very soon, and was wondering what turbo everyone is running, i used to own a 95 gsx, it ran 11s with a 16g but i was always pushing it very hard, im going for either a 50 trim, 20g, fp green or something bad a##, plz help me decide what i should go with, by posting your experiences with the setup you guys have , id really appreciate it. thanks a lot, oh yeah i dont need a big ol honkin turbo either , thats what my 800rwhp supra is for, just looking for a nice D.D that can whoop some a##

:dsm: ....i jus got recently purchased the pte scm61....its not installed yet...but people put down real good numbers with race gas smim and some cams.....it likes to run big boost and doesn't start really performing till round 21-25lbs id think.....its kinda laggy though..spool at bout 4500 maybe lil lower depedning on ur setup.....but def a 400whp turbo easilyyyyyyyy..... :dsm:
 
So you had an 11 second DSM and a 9second 800whp Supra and you're asking what turbo to run? Stop bullshitting, you're 16 and daddy just bought you a 92 1.8 non turbo and you don't know the difference.
 
No "Turbo vs Turbo" threads. If you can have these MaD fAsTT cars, you should be able to read the focking rules.
 
im upgradin my turbo in a month.... i have a hks echaust,downpipe,MBC,blitz bov evo3manifold,afc2, ..soon im gettin a aem FPR,fuel pump,MAFT .... wahts the safest turbo to go wit
 
prolly nothing bigger then a 16g or something if your not gonna upgrade your injectors. Maybe just get a 14b?
 
Thats a pretty vauge question. Maybe work on your spelling, Capitalization, grammar and then someone might me able to help you out.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty straight forward question. The EVO III 16g sounds like a good prescription, although injectors SHOULD be included in your project.
 
You didn't even list what kind of goals you have. How can anyone help you pick a turbo when you don't mention what kind of performance goals you have? There are so many articles on here on dozens of different turbo setups. If you are that unsure of what you want and can't take the time to research it, just find someone that has a setup you admire, and copy it.
 
I guess being original and not copying others was still something that people have done. If thats how it was, as me612 would put it "just find someone that has a setup you admire, and copy it" then there wouldn't be a point in these forums. Anyways NJgsx what is a personal goal you would like to meet in horsepower? Other than that if your not going to upgrade your injectors, your 450's aren't going to help a 16g much at all. 14b if your not going to mod for a while.

I'm having trouble trying to understand exactly what you were saying about me in those first couple of sentances. If you were callin me an idiot, or agreeing with me, or what??

First off, if you're going to post up a question on what turbo to get, you should be including some sort of goals, numbers, or something along those lines to go along with the question. He just asked "what's the best turbo" basically. Well without goals how can anyone tell him.

Now to your "purpose of these forums". What do you consider the purpose to be? To ask vague questions about topics that have already been discussed countless times? I guess I see it more as a tool for research. If you have a question, search and research it before asking the question. Guranteed you can find answers to your questions just by taking the time out to research it. Then you can form your own opinions and be a little more educated on what ever it is you are trying to find out.

But I supposed some people are too lazy for that, so instead they can just post a new thread on a beatin to death topic, and just copy what someone else did and tells them to do in their thread.

My advice to this person is, since he's too lazy to research it, just copy someone with results he wants. Might not be the best way, but it's the lazy way!! If you really want to know about certain turbos, then start reading because just about every turbo that can be bolted on to our cars has been discussed on here somewhere. And if it hasn't, well then ask about it, not just a vague question about what is the best turbo.

I want something that will have mininal lag but wont drop off top end when i shift at high RPMs. I want to stick with a turbo that has a mitsu housing becaue im gonna get a equal length header that fits a mitsu housing.
 
I searched but I couldn't really find what I was looking for.

I recently lost my poor stock t-25 turbo and now am in need of a new one obvioulsy. I had been looking at the E3 16g, but then read a lot about Bullseyes T04B V-Trim. I think that I would like to go with the V-trim, however I'm not sure if my car is ready for it. My car is stock except for an airfilter and the free mods listed on vfaq. Would the v-trim work without any other mods provided I only ran 12psi or so. I don't have any plans to go huge as far a hp goes as I am a poor college student and can't even really afford this new turbo. I would like to do future upgrades like exhaust and what not, but I don't see it happening too soon. Main question is, Will the v-trim work with no other upgrades? Any help is appreciated. Sorry for the rambling and thanks for the space.

edit: Also, will the high pressure actuator work for the v-trim, it says 12-30+psi, so I could run it at 12 right?

for what you discribed as your goals, get a big 16g,..

the spool up on that other turbo will be stupid slow & u wont be happy with it
