Where does this wire go to?

Pulled off the head yesterday and I found this little boy.
Its connected to the block as seen with the pics. Is it important? Can I run without it?

Looks like someone may have hacked yours as it should have two wires going to a plug (ECU harness side of the plug seen in the above link). You might find those two wires under the heat shrink section. But it's best to probably get a new one.

^^^ Bingo.. Id buy a new one if I were you man. Can be had at a local parts store for ~50 bucks.
