where does this wire/ connection go?

i am finishing up replacing my head gasket and i connected all of the wire connections except for one. please help me find out where it goes, what it connects to, i need to get my car back on the road.

Crank sensor . . . ? Looks like the crank sensor plug to me - check it out

nope, i already have something plugged into that, so either i plugged the wrong wires into the crank sensor or thats not where that wire connects to.

I see that the valve cover is off . . . the crank sensor & cam sensor plugs are very similar if not the same. The 1 in the pic looks like the harness is long enough to reach down to the crank sensor. The cam position sensor goes onto the outside of the valve cover on a 420a. That`s probably what it is . . .

sometimes you can just let the wire fall, or sort of lay it down in the shape that its worn into...and see what its around to get an idea where it does. Just be 100% sure it is what it is before connecting!

is it ac compressor or coil pack? there is a plug like that on the timing cover towards the back of the engine bay

That is probably speed sensor

I learned my lesson the first time I took out a 420a

Looks like the coil pack man.. my 420a has that same wiring duh of course I know right... but yeah from the location of it its the coil pack..

Just had an 02 neon in the shop today. That plug will fit the coil pack . . . the pictures are with the valve cover off - & the coil pack is mounted on the valve cover, & the wire length/arrangement looks right . . .
