Zero modifications to the stock rear bumper cover and 40+ runs over 200mph and we never had any issues.

not much air can get under there due to the spare tire well in a DSM. In a CSM, different storry! That rear bumper is like a parachute!

Hmm, see it looked cavernous and a source of potential trouble.. hence the apparent over engineering on my part.

I'm still not sure what class I'm going to end up in, and waiting on the new rule book.. so I did not want to do anything along the lines of a belly pan just yet.

siiiick! it's surprising that hood even closes with the turbo sitting that high!

Thanks guys car is almost there! needs a lil bit of wiring and its ready for a tune. I am super Excited about this car, mainly because dsm's.... is saldly is the minority when it comes to the "SFWD, FWD, Outlaw Fwd classes". and this car hopefully will start and many dsm will follow to the new "Chevy vs Ford" in the sport Compact World.

:)!

^^That is one of my favorite 2G's, up there with Richard's.

My turd is still in progress, but getting close - a few VE mods:

After the car runs it will also be a "ginea pig". We are planning on testing the efficienfy of this manifold and compare it to other manifolds in the market.

Turbo Hump!! LOL

Those are some serious cars there! Im looking forward to both you guys making passes.

Landspeed- You're gonna have to get a tire on that thing!

You guys are getting more persuasive as the season gets closer. LOL

As it happens I ended up with an extra pair of wheels in 16x8 and 4.5 backspace.. what sort of slick or DOT radial could one get away with while I sort everything else out and temporarily am on stock struts and ride height?

Any input would be much appreciated.

To do list is getting shorter.. just cleaning up a few things.

Trying to make the scoop fit as flush as possible

Planning on powder coating the bezel black and then ceramic coating all the hot side stuff

Rest is down to nuts and bolts for the most part.

We are down to:
1.) Finishing aero modifications
2.) Ceramic coating the exhaust system
3.) Organizing Wires/Hoses
4.) Filling all fluids
5.) Systems testing

Then it's time to test fire!

I dont get this one problem I am trying to figure out.

Why arent there tons of FWD dsm's running 10s, 11s, and 12s?

This car has been around for 15 years and there are like a handfull of fast FWD's

On the other hand, the srt4, only around for like 3 years, has dozens of cars in the 11's, hundreds in the 12's and some in the 10s, most on stock blocks and trannies still

I dont get it??? Is there just something weird about our cars? Why is it so hard for us to go fast?

I am very very tempted to kill this trend. My tranny blew 2nd and I was gonna swap a stocker in and sell the car, but im like 99% set for calling TRE and ordering their race tranny, swapping some slicks on it and puttin down some times.

They have this new AWD tranny setup they are selling that work on FWD dsm's, and retain the awd gearing, maybe the fwd tranny isnt geared right or something, maybe the awd tranny will help???

Its expensive, $2500 with quaife, but its brand new, its built up and it has better gearing.

I put down 342whp on my old bullseye turbo, vtrim, and Im getting a 50trim from them now to replace my old turbo and then some cams to get about 400whp

With that and traction, it should easily do 11's. If not, Im stumped. I just dont understand why there arent more hardcore FWD dsm's around.

The problem is that most people on here feel that if you dont have an AWD then whats the point. I love my FWD and it will be fast when im done with it. im starting my build later this year
