It's worth it, but I can't find the right auto transmission to save my life so right now I'm using a jdm fwd one.
 
I need a 2g transmission. The one I have, while it does bolt up correctly, is too shallow. So, for now, I am running the converter that came with the transmission until I find the right one.
 
I saw someone can't think of who it is. He's a member on here he's running a 2g trans in a 1g. He's laying down some quick times. He's awd though.
 
yea, it's somewhat common. A close friend of mine will be running 2g awd transmission in his 1g and he will be putting down some good times this year.

Dont lift when you shift for 2nd gear. I know its hard..... But it can be done just dont break your shift cables like me :cry:

Well for an update on our drag car, shes just sitting right now. Shop has been slammed and I dont have much time to work on her. Im rebuilding the frontend a bit but this time im going to tie it into the roll cage and make some ballast mounts. Im going to try for 1.4s without wheelie bars this season. I know for a fact she will run 9s all day with the auto in it. We recently put down 900 with a 5speed and are hoping that power will only drop to the 700s with the auto. We do have our new pistons in and should be building the new motor for next year soon. We went with custom strokers from Wiseco and GRP rods topped off with a Manley crank.

Id like to publicly thank Kiggly Racing for the 7 bolt flex plate..... Yall know I'll never go 6!
 
^^ Ya you caught that to LOL. Trust me I didn't mean to lift but it's force of habit. I drive my car daily and then once a month we get to race, I can't tell you how much I go thru my head saying don't lift don't lift LOL. The last run of the night I got it all down didn't lift on either shift and ran the 12.82, so I really can see the difference it makes.
 
Got it back from the chassis shop today. I still have to get it aligned, paint the cage, hook up the trans lines and the trans cooler fan then finish a couple other things but plan on turning it up on the ID1000's this week or next. I need to order another bosch 044 and plumb the feed line later but for now I'll be turning up and seeing how things work on the small fuel system which will limit me to around 550whp.

Well going down to the track this weekend for another try on my small 16g setup. The gopro video helped out a lot along with my logs. I'm planning to run everything the same, except raising boost to 22psi and lowering launch rpm to 5000 instead of 5250. Also I will make sure all shifts are nlts and hit 7k. I noticed in my logs it starts to fall off past 7k, so until I get the bc272 I have in I'll try to stay in the powerband. Man I really wanna see 12.7-12.6 out of this setup before I move on to the holset I have waiting. :) I think I can do it with alittle better driving and alittle more boost. I'll get some vids up after the weekend.

The "heavy" fwd 3000GT ran 10s... and a stock motor stock turbos awd stealth ran 10s (STMs Stealth) i would imagine u guys would have done it by now.
 
Couldnt really find this anywhere. What is the FWD record at the moment?
