What is a Fuel Cut dispenser, where can I get one

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Its probably talking about a fuel cut defender. it just trick your car into thinking its runnning less boost than what it really is. i would not get one. Just follow the Tech Guide - DSMtuners. It will show you the right way to upgrade not the cheating way that will damage your car. Dont pay attention to that cheesy site either theres some dumb stuff in there too.

"DSM tuners are proud of their allwheel-
drive and limited slip differentials. For $500 these cars can hit near 300 hp!
Fuel cut dispenser ($300) and performance intake! ($200)"

It's like a Pez Dispenser.

Except it gives you fuel cut.

ROFLROFLROFL

Agreed. There's so many falsehoods in that it makes me wonder if you really want a dsm.

Alright guys I had to do it for all the kiddies watching:

Why Have A Project DSM?

1. Most bang for your buck than any other project car (1st Gen)
2. Engine can easily handle up to 500-horsepower on stock internals
3. Very healthy selection of aftermarket parts
4. Same amount of body kits to choose as the Civic! (2nd Gen) ROFLROFL
5. Very stylish, well respected and make great show cars (2nd Gen)
6. Owning one usually pushes you to become an experienced tuner
7. Large amount of clubs and many tech articles to read
8. Easy to learn from past DSM tuners mistakes
9. Easy to gain horsepower because of excellent response to bolt-ons.
10. All-wheel-drive means great launching capabilities (some DSM’s are 7sec
cars)
11. All-wheel-drive gets the most traction for any amount of horsepower.
12. Even the rear-wheel-drive owners envy the AWD’s.
13. Easy to find a good deal on aftermarket parts
14. Turbos are rarely considered rice cars
15. Crank walk is overrated and only on the 2nd generations
16. Not a common car you see on the street
17. Limited places that have an AWD dyno.
18. Don’t need body kits to be a show car (2nd Gen)
19. “Crank-walk” is overrated and not as common as you might think

Why DSM’s Make Poor Project Cars?

1. Poor gas mileage. Most DSM tuners have a 2nd car for daily driving
2. Requires specialized and experience mechanics for maintenance ROFLROFL
3. Potential “Crank walk” in 2nd generations
4. Very challenging to find one in good condition
5. Many turbo engines have been ripped and run really hard ROFLROFL
6. More junk and low quality aftermarket parts available to fall victim to
7. The non-turbo models have more problems than the turbo models
8. Hard to sell because buyer’s tend to be very skeptical about purchasing
9. DSM mechanics usually find non-turbos harder to work on than the turbos
10. Non-turbo tuners find conflict, rifts in the DSM communities
11. The 420A non-turbo engine blocks are not good for turbo charging.
(blocks are aluminum)
12. Non-turbo models don’t have the same amount of online resources as
turbos.
13. Common to take a huge cash investment loss selling modified cars
14. The older DSM’s are your best bet for performance, but difficult to make
show-car material due to it’s lack of atheistic design.
15. AWD almost as heavy as a Supra. Weight reduction is very important to
DSM’s.
16. 2nd generation non-turbos are have trouble beating cars within their
horsepower range because they are heavy.

I'm convinced, I'm buying a civic now, so I can make real horse power!
I guess I'll take my hat off to the guy who can sell this for a hundred bucks, and people bought it. I love this country.

And I'm sorry to say that you're not going to get 300hp for $500...except maybe for one 1/8 mile run. But then you have to ask yourself how much a new motor costs (more than $500).

Fuel cut is a safety net. It's there for a reason. If you remove it (and maybe your knock sensor), the ECU will blindly let you blow the motor. You could also defeat the rev limiter and let the ECU blow your motor in a more impressive way if you want to.:D

They said crankwalk is overrated twice...

I have 158k on my stock 95 7 bolt, and knock on wood it still runs great, under very, very spirited driving.
And in no way is $300 getting you 300hp. But it will get the fun started. (if spent in the right areas)

A pez dispenser...hehe.

If you have a fuel cut dispenser, can't you just unplug it and never get fuel cut?

PS LOL at that whole article. It was painful to read but funny. I really wanted to see what the said about the "never get pulled over" chapter though,

Ya is was just looking at that and wondering what you guy's thought. I was hoping there was a cheaper way of getter close to 300 HP without paying $3,500 us or $4,000 CAN in engine parts:hmm:OMG
I'm looking at a stock 96 Talon with 100k miles for $5,200 (converted to American, 6,500 CAN). Wish me Luck!ROFL

Too expensive, too high mileage.
Anyone else?

A 13-year-old car with 100k works out to 7700 miles per year. That's low. Average is around 12k miles per year. My '97 has 91k on it, and it's also a low-mileage car for its age.

As for the price, it depends on what condition the car's in.

I guess you're right, I'm a little bias....

My 1997 GSX has 21,000 on it.
My 1997 GS-T has 35,000 on it.

Heh...except that your miles are much harder on the car than stock hp miles.

Let's see...if you trailer your GSX to the track, 21k miles works out to around 3500 1/4 mile passes per year (1/4 mile up, 1/4 mile back to staging) and 42000 1/4 mile passes total. :) How many clutches would that work out to be?
