oh that makes much more sense
that's going to set that tan off like a firecracker. need to see that after -- a friend wants to swap in his black/tan pieces in his 2g as well, it might cause him to do the same

Eventually I'll have black seats too as my tan ones have seen WAY better days 🤣🤣🤣 at least the driver seat has anyway the passenger isn't so bad LOL I'll post pics of carpet once finished though

Using a simple 180 fitting found a nice location for the water pump, also got the intercooler back from the welder. Now I can fab up mounts on the tubing for the intercooler and move on to the radiator.

Well, things didn't go as planned 🤣🤣🤣 that downpipe install fought me the whole way... then couldn't even finish. Have to go find some nuts and bolts to connect o2 housing and downpipe. There's no threads on my o2 flange 😒. Dying the carpet tomorrow and while it dries I'm gonna get the hardware needed for exaust... just gonna hold this "L" for the day 🤷‍♂️😒🤣🤣🤣

Damn seal went in sideways, so I had to disassemble to realign it.
New breather bulb with 3M 08008 just near the top. Filled a bit with LW SP to get it re-lubed. Made a hell of a mess. Fun times.
Just need some Great Stuff to seal the hatch and final torque the bolts.

Also removed as many Allen plugs as I could from the cylinder head. Two stripped even after heat, but I was at least able to get their opposites out, so that's still a win.

In that situation I buy studs that I can weld(even if not the prettiest) to the O2 housing. Makes lining up the 2 alot easier

Grabbed one of thems on the left. Not OBX but some other brand. Same stuff exactly, though.
Need to devise a way for it to be secured on the bottom as well as the top two screws.
Without hacking apart my OEM piece which is still minty.

Probably plastic weld a tab so I can use the metal bits from the stocker.. anybody come up with another fancy idea?

Got the FIC 1050s in. Went to swap the BPR7s in and noticed my 6s looked pretty good? If I’m reading them correctly. This is just a street car that will get the occasional hit nothing crazy so I’ll save the 7s for later.

Checked for leaks and adjusted the global and deadtime. Posting an idle log let me know if I did this correctly or not…

Got the carpet dyed. I think it'll dry up nice! Used the rit dye.
I didn't have much luck with the rit dye in a salt water bath. When you rinse it, most of it comes out. It eventually looks like it was a dark blue. I gave it a shot with Duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint, and it's definitely black now. Seems to be holding up well.

I haven't heard of salt water, I used boiling water. Amd all videos I've watched just says let dry 🤷‍♂️ well see what happens if I don't like it ill try the fabric paint

I still have no idea what these boxes are for...anyone have a guess?

Good grief you're right. Stupid moment #2 for me in the span of a week or so. I didn't notice the letters at the bottom until I took the picture with the flash up close. After looking it up...it is just that which makes sense on why it was wired to the horn. I think the gate latch tops this but dang man that's another face palm

Hopefully this isn't a testament to how I put the engine together because that would be bad

No worries only reason I even knew was mine came with one from previous owner nd I ripped it all out because if I locked the door from inside (power locks quit working) and unlocked it with a key it would still go off and couldn't make it stop unless I popped the trunk with the key 🤣🤣🤣 it became quite annoying

Hopefully I can use the splice points for the gauges though so it may prove useful but yeah man that thing is definitely coming out
