@1999RSfwd , would that be internal or external on the transmission for his model? The turbo models are all on the inside is why I ask and I don't own any 420 cars to look at.
Thanks.
They are externally mounted. One of the few things Chrysler made easy to work on. ROFLROFL

That helps this question A LOT, thank you!
Marty

Below are two pics I stole from Google and circled the solenoid in red.
Like @97egl said, the solenoid is externally mounted. Sometimes they have a shield or cover covering them (also circled in red)

Some more progress. Got the upper intercooler pipe on and all the wiring in the engine bay done. Boost leak test next. Still have to fill the transmission as when I did it last I didn't tighten up the drain plug so all my MTL was in the floor when I came into the garage. Tomorrow I'll get the toe lined up again and tranny filled.

Got the trans mated amd ready to drop in!

Then got motivated!

Finally starting to dial in the HX40. It's an ok turbo so far. 28ish give or take 3 psi. I'm finding more leaks as i up the boost so fixing as i go along. Feel slight surge in high load 3rd gear pulls.

The "mushroom factor" strikes again.

I'm going to swap rear hatches, because wrapping the back section showed a whole bunch of minor dents. (The one on the silver Laser is perfect.) While I'm at it, I want to rattle-can paint the inner periphery of the hatch and B pillar. That means the quarter windows need to come out, too. Prepared myself for a struggle, but by starting at the rearmost tip, I was able to PULL THEM OFF WITH MY BARE HANDS! And no, it's not THAT hot here in Pittsburgh today. Wow.

1st start today... unfortunately killed it quick because Ive aquired some electrical gremlin and a bunch of cabin fuses arent getting power. No oil psi to check so better to shut it down until we figure that out

Did a BLT and realized i never tightened one of the new t bolts clamps i got with new couplers :p. The car still pulled like a freight train and now hit's even harder then before. I think i'm at 30ish now

Then came out for a cruise with my boy who got his car resprayed. These photos don't do the car justice how beautiful this paint is in person.

I want in this game so I guess it's time to play "catch up". :)
Sorry, the last picture was just for "fun" (expensive fun).

Oof. What's the story?

Fixed my brake line from rubbing on my wheel (thank God for braided stainless lines) and bled the brakes more. Took the car on a drive afterwards and got into a bit more boost than I had anticipated. Still breaking in the engine.. oops?

You won't hurt it. (You boosting it)
The Story on the bent valve (one of the sixteen) is......7 years ago, the Red 90 Talon was on its way to a local car show (to represent, there are no other DSMs around here) and the timing sprocket on the crank worked its way forward (from a loose balancer bolt) far enough that the belt skipped and bent all 16. I was logging at the time and going down a hill so I looked at the log, pressed on the gas, saw the TPS go up but NO SPEED INCREASE. When I got to the bottom of the hill, I figured out real quick that the motor was DEAD and got a tow back home. I finally got the cars engine all rebuilt this year and running like never before fast and then it had a mechanical failure (again). It got me home a couple months ago but it sounded horrible so I unhooked the battery (again) and am building a new motor. I don't know what happened to the motor in the car. I wasn't doing anything other than what I normally do, toasting Firebirds, when it started making a strange noise in the engine. I still had oil pressure, but not as much, so I limped her home (she got me there without any issue) and is sitting there until the new motor is finished. At that time, we will ALL find out what happened to the motor currently in the car. :idontknow:

You know what that means gang.......
