Removred remnant of eprom chip from 2g ecu, awaiting socketing soon..
Picked up ecmlink
Waiting til monday for rest of parts including stainless clutch line from master to slave, ngk wires to replace my suspect taylors, damper, clutch master cylinder, and innovate mtx-l to replace my uego...and gaskets n junk

Realized I can't plastic weld PUR back together. :banghead:

Sealed good side of bumper with aluminum tape.

Sanded backside of bumper with coarse grit and wiped with methanol.

Mixed up epoxy with black epoxy dye, and coated backside of repair around tow hook opening. Added 2 layers of FG cloth, and smoothed it all out.

Cried and hugged the talon ;( my V2 to V3 ecmlink upgrade got lost in the mail. :( and its the weekend so i have not been able to reach ECMLINK or USPS ;(

I'd rather have that instead of taking a look at the ECU you just purchased and finding traces between IC1 and EPROM are broken in two places, one on each side, and the only way to fix it is with jumper wires. I hope those are the only surprises with this thing. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after removing the cut EPROM chip legs (that's how I got it), so I don't know if it was the removers' snips that did it, or the soldering remover took more than it should. Oh whelp, I got connectivity back between IC1, IC2, and EPROM on that signal line and all others, so hopefully I'm good to go.

well atleast you have the option to fix and repair. If usps doesnt come threw im out 700$ and have to start from scratch. They lost my upgrade from ecmlink and my SD package :banghead:

Curious where that tow hook is to be mounted? I need to do this in the front for track days incase i break down i dont want the quad or golf cart or what ever ass ramming me down the rest of the track LOL

Threads through bumper into a piece of DOM tubing I welded into the crash bumper mounting tube.

Hole saw through the FG crash bumper, through the foam cover support, through bumper cover.

This is for the rear, but I plan on doing the front exactly the same. (minus the mis-aligned hole like I did on the rear)

I'll toss up a pic when I hang the rear bumper.

Ive been going to the track since the 90's and have yet to ever see a golf cart raminng a car down the track when it broke down..ha that would be funny

Dunno if it necessarily qualifies as a DSM, but I finishing paying my machinist(Mr. BogusSVO ;) ) for my built 4G64T. Loving how it's coming together. Looks like some 156mm rods and stroker pistons, which I'm very happy with. Long rod 2.4 ftw!

Put on new oem quarter panel

Did you get that from a supplier or did you cut it out of some mint condition 2G?

Tested 2g ecu. Didn't fire it up (lots of work before that), but it turned on, CEL went off after a few seconds, and ecmlink connected just fine. Logged a few seconds of moving the TPS. Was happy enough with that for the day.

Coolant temp showed -11C, IAT was -7C. That's 10 degrees colder than it should be up here.. I hate this part of the continent.
