Yesterday....

Changed out Valve covers due to thinking mine was cracked.... Well I had to beat it it off with about 5-6 hard smacks from a hammer..... Then I went fishing for all the hard broken plastic the decided to drop down into my head .....fun fun took almost 45 minutes to make sure it was all cleaned out... I bet it was to original valve cover gaskets.... Replaced the oil cap gasket as well it broke the moment I even tried to pull it off...

Replaced my plug wires, and 1 spark plug...I did the other 3 about 2 weeks ago but the bottom boot on the number 2 plug wire decided to stay on on the plug... And I didn't have a tool that could reach it...

Today it's going to get inspected...(which it will fail) but will be passed due to knowing the guy... He will give me a list of what needs fixed and I'll get her fixed right.... First on the agenda will be fix my about 3 exhaust leaks....then whatever else happens to be broke...

I hate starting new jobs. I havent had ANY funds to even do anything to either of mine :( I only need a couple hundred dollars to get things I need to get the spyder back together too thats what sucks so bad!!

I did compression test one cylinder a couple days ago in my 1g to make sure this compression tester was working.. We werent getting any reading on my buddys cavalier, turns out the timing tensioner let go.. 0 compression in the little 2.2 ecotec! LOL

Yesterday....I used a hammer and chisel and pulled up all the factory sound deadening from the trunk so I can mock up where the battery box will go.

Today I plan on cleaning up the trunk and actually mounting the battery box.

I installed my Hallman Pro MBC, BigT28Killer, Punishment Racing open dump o2 housing, Punishment racing 3" downpipe. :dsm:

All fluids topped off, all pumps tested, no leaks, almost every sensor in range and responding.. only a couple tweaks to be made.

First fire has been delayed till tomorrow after todays 13 hour marathon tag team session because... little kids painting easter eggs > race car LOL

The big pump is not nearly as loud as I would have imagined, a nice bonus.

After a complete rebuild (Ross + Scat H beams), and going through one head (valve dropped during oil priming), I successfully broke in the new engine today. I couldn't be happier.

Chris your car looks amazing, keep updating us.

Dropped the motor in finally. Should button everything up tomorrow, and start it. I'm scared to death after the no oil pressure after the hg job last time, but this time the whole bottom end it brand new with weisco/scat so hopefully everything will go smooth.
Also painted the bay.

Lets see......I installed my Precision 880cc injectors. Wired in my shift light. Wired up and mounted my power inverter. Put my interior back together. Fixed the chip in my windshield. I feel like I got alot done today.

Nice to see other people using scat H beams. They are AWESOME,
Made
From the same metallurgical blank as eagle! Strong as shit and cheap!

Aren't they like the same price?

Today (technically), I took the Talon out for a spin. Over the last week I've been tuning and working out the bugs, so last night I could actually go out and drive the car. Even with a half-modified factory GSR tune and only 20psi, this Holset rips! I hit full boost right at 4k and accidentally bounced off the rev limiter (8.5k) a few times. The car is an entirely different animal now.
