2G Valve Cover Keeps Leaking And White Smoke comes out

So my previous post have been me just trying to find out why my valve cover keeps leaking. I have a Hyundai Rocker Valve Cover. It didn’t leak for the first 3 days and now recently started to leak again.

It is also throwing white smoke out of the exhaust and I used a scanner and it told me it needed a new MAP SENSOR which I ordered from Autzone. Since I work their.

I just please need help I don’t want to sell it because this car means a lot to me. But I also know when to stop beating a dead horse. Please any help will be Thankful!

Oh my bad. Didn’t know they used different hardware. @FredRider did you buy those bolts?

I actually have not I have just been using the bolts the car came with when I first bought it 4 years ago

are you sure the MDP sensor is bad, it could just be the hole in the manifold is clogged.

I’ll take a look at it again and post a picture of it tomorrow morning!

Find a way to cut that elbow

Ok I’ll see how I can cut it! Pretty sure a grinder and some sandpaper will do the trick! Hahaha

None of the Duralast PCV that I've tested over the years would seal 14 psi in the reverse direction like required for turbo cars.

So what PCV VALVE would you recommend I buy? Or any modification to it?

Get a video of the smoke issue if you can, please.

It smokes from the exhaust when you accelerate it. For example it gives off the impression that you just smoke screened every driver behind you and smells really bad. You could even confuse it as if someone was hot boxing the car if you had your windows down.

I will be doing a compression test on it tomorrow!

You actually don’t need the Hyundai hardware but you DO need the correct valve cover gasket for that particular valve cover. The stock regular Dsm gasket will not work and it will leak. Found this out years ago. I ran hardware store bolts, which are slightly longer, and the correct Hyundai gasket with zero leaks.

What would be the correct Hyundai gasket for it?

Yep - smells like a blown head gasket to me. A leakdown test should confirm that - you'll probably see bubbling coming up out of the radiator cap neck as the compressed air leaks past the split in the head gasket and enters the water jacket. I'd bet if you pulled the plugs one will look squeaky clean while the other three have some black on them. The clean plug is your problem cylinder where the leak is. Margin of error with any bench wrenching over the internet... but if I were a betting man...

Yep. Blueish smoke = oil. White billowy smoke = water. Black smoke = fuel.

The smoke screen effect would be hard to achieve if burning oil... unless you had a massive ring problem.

Bluish smoke on starting (may only happen sometimes) or on deceleration (mainly when hot) is oil going through valve seals. Blue smoke on acceleration, especially when hot is oil going past rings -- they can no longer scrape most of it off the cylinder walls.
