You can jumper pin 4 to pin 5 on A-18X without causing a problem and this should engage the A/C clutch. Don't do it for more than a few seconds though because the ECM ordinarily turns on the fans to pull air through the condenser when the...

Oh, I forgot to include a quick picture of the car with paint. Here it is. Check out my build page if you want to see more.

'95 GST. How do you take the washer nozzles out? Mine are clogged solidly at the nozzles -- water runs freely from the hose to the nozzle but not from the nozzle itself and I can neither clear it by pushing a wire through nor backflush it with...

I missed this part. Depending on the exact version of your car there can be more things connected to the VSS signal like cruise control, Auto Trans, and others.

Just in case anyone sees this thread, I was able to fix my problem by replacing my crank sensor. I confirmed no spark and getting fuel. I also would recommend checking the Auto shut off relay, and going through different test before buying a...

Thanks for updating us with the resolution. Sorry you didn’t get any answers before this!

We've been chasing this for awhile now. Refresh our memories. This car was running? You did not overheat it severely? We've given you the tools to eliminate some suspects. All 4 cylinders? Not likely a head gasket unless you severely overheated...

waltah replied to the thread 2G Car still won’t start.
That's not entirely right. FIAV/ISCV does give another route for intake air which is under ECU control. The 'fast idle' function --- extra air to give the power to allow the engine to run when it's very cold and idling -- is one of its jobs...

Possible. Here are other ways coolant can enter. Leaking fiav gasket Cracked head (unlikely but possible) Cracked block (unlikely but possible) If it’s in all 4 cylinders and out of the blue, I would check fiav gasket first. You can also looping...

For water in all the cylinders the FIAV (= Idle Speed Control Valve) gasket is indeed the best bet. It's a complicated molded rubber thing that fits in the grooves on the TB and if an old one is reused and doesn't fit right or if it's left out...

I think the first question is how bad is a 15% low leakdown test. I haven't done that test and don't know: Maybe someone who has can educate us?Then I wonder if this is a random pull junkyard engine in which such an issue isn't surprising...

Found a power cable burned out. I spliced it (years ago) and it must have touched somewhere at the exposed part. I’m going to repair it tomorrow and see what happens. This is the problem I am sure of it!

90% of all electrical problems are bad, improper, or missing grounds.

In addition to Gary's suggestion, look for a wire coming out of the factory plug (other side of your adaptor) and going to car metal structure. And check the installation instructions for the radio: It's possible they want the metal case of...

Try touching a wire from the metal radio case to any metal frame piece (that is electrically connected to the frame of the car).

Of course the problem can't really be the 0-rings. They're up at the fuel rail and under fuel pressure. Your problem will be the rectangular cross section seals at the lower end which is under vacuum. These are subject to engine heat, they can...

Ok. The idle changes when the fuel injector o-rings were sprayed with starting fluid. Looks like I know where to start. Hopefully that's all it is. The car was running super rich/black smoke out of the exhaust and crappy surging idle. They are...

Voltage at the battery after starting should be over 14. 14.4 or so, depending on the age of the battery. It sounds like you have a charging system problem that is not the alternator. If so, you'll have to troubleshoot. First steps...

Yes my radio is also grounded by only the upper left mounting screw (attaching radio mounting bracket to frame).

waltah replied to the thread 2G AC condenser.
I've had good luck with used condensers. In your shoes I'd try to find a 'you pull it' parts place with a system that still has pressure in it. Donno if you have such parts yards or not.OR - go with an eBay or other supplier that has a good...
