No I didnt ........Im getting close to 40 psi, im considering doing a oring setup.......This is part of the game I guess, I could just keep the boost below 30psi with a composite but what fun is that? When you retorqued dis you loosen first then re tighten? Im running a hks gasket. So mich thicker and heavier then what im used to seeing.
The 4g63 is a strange motor, I never had as many headgasket issues on any of the honda motors i built. How many of the guys on this website leakdown test their engines often? Ive been so careful to check and double check every measurement. I bet you there are guys driving around and dont even realize their leaking. I think running the composite is excepting defeat. Nothing against guys who choose to run them......but if you want to make serious power thats gunna last you need to oring the block. After running high boost through two composites they scare me, when they fail they fail. I just spoke to my machinist, im getting the block oringedWhy would you keep boost under 30psi on a composite?
Is this going to be on your new block or current one?Ok so its official , im dropping off the block to be surfaced and oringed.....no more bullshit
https://www.jackstransmissions.com/pages/dsm-evo-iii-gear-ratiosYou would go as fast as the rpm in 3rd gear lets your car go. MPH is determined by your transmission gearing. I'd estimate ~90mph.

This is gunna be the new block, standard bore with better rods. I have some Manley turbo tuff rods in my closet with some wiseco hd Pistons. I chose to go with the eagles with this engine as this was my first build. I meant fast for public roads around were I live. I'm going to take her out on the highway and rip it one last time before I pull her apart. Who cares right? Is this going to be on your new block or current one?
Before u tear her apart give us a clean pull from 2500-redline. Nothing wreckless if you do it on a highway on ramp. You'll only be mid 90 mph.

Interesting perspective. Though boost in and of itself isn't going to blow gaskets. Cylinder pressure. It's timing that causes issues imo. Everyone has to do what works for them. For me, on DSMs, composite for life.
They handle it for a limited time. After feeling what 37psi feels like.......I'm officially a boost whore. This is a testament to the engineers at Mitsubishi, the fact that the transmission and driveline can handle all of that extra torque is incredible. I'm going to be a master technician after I'm done with all this bologna...
DittoThey handle it for a limited time.
Before you do that you may want to talk to 1sic1gb. He has had a million issues with his o-ringed setup.Ok so its official , im dropping off the block to be surfaced and oringed.....no more bullshit
You are officially a "BOOST JUNKIE" now!!!After feeling what 37psi feels like.......I'm officially a boost whore. This is a testament to the engineers at Mitsubishi, the fact that the transmission and driveline can handle all of that extra torque is incredible. I was going to say! LolThey handle it for a limited time.
You should talk to Raif Fejzo from RRT. He's the man there in Canton CT. He o- rings all his motorsAfter feeling what 37psi feels like.......I'm officially a boost whore. This is a testament to the engineers at Mitsubishi, the fact that the transmission and driveline can handle all of that extra torque is incredible.
