Hey guys, I'm obviously new to this and need some help
I have a 99 gst spyder and is having trouble starting.
If I let it sit for about 5 or more hours than I have to give it gas to start it and rev it for like 10 seconds to keep it from dieing ...it runs rough for about 30 seconds and than it runs fine after 30 seconds of starting it..also the belt squeaks when I rev it for those 10 seconds and then goes away.
If it helps, the mods are Injen intake, BOV, open wastegate, FMIC, straight pipe
It sounds like it has cams by the way it idles... It supposably has an upgraded ECU and has turbo timer and boost gauge which shouldn't really matter.. The guy I bought it from said he upgraded the fuel pump and injectors and I never really bothered to check them.
I was thinking it could be the IAC/ISC but I'm not sure and NEED HELP PLEASE
Also it's giving off fuems that smells like fuel

Sounds like you may have a fuel leak, since you bought it second hand with the fuel mods already done there is a chance he did something wrong like messed up a fuel injector o-ring or messed up a fuel line. Next time you go to crank the car turn the key to the on position and let it sit for about 10 seconds or so then cycle the key off then back to the on position for a few more seconds , you should hear the fuel pump wine and prime the rails. If she starts right up and runs fine it means the fuel system is leaking down when the car is off and by priming the system you are returning fuel back to the rails before cranking.

Check for leaky fuel pressure regulator or leaky fuel pump check valve.
BTW on 2gt and all 1g the fuel pump only runs when the engine is rotating (CAS pulses) - not when just the key is ON but engine not rotating.

My 98 had the same problem... The guy I bought it from said he replaced the fuel pump which was why it was checked last. Should of been checked first. Come to find out I just decided to check the fuel pump after weeks of guess work. A.and found a mashed up o-ring where the pump outlet connects to the assembly. I checked my fuel pressure at the pump and was 12psi! Removed pump and replaced o-ring and bam 42psi. at the pump! I was really ticked and happy at the same time. Car ran great after repairs. :hellyeah:

I had the same issue when I put in my 255. Gas would run back and not stay pressurized for anytime at all. I ended up just rewiring my pump to come on when the key hit the start position and throwing a switch in for the pump for when I am doing maintenance. It has all made my life a lot easier as silly as that sounds.

If you end up having a 255 pump and you are using the stock fuel regulator, chances are your pump is over running the stock regulator.

So like other stated, you have a leak in the system, check the pump (post pics), also, take some pics to the engine so we can see what you have there.

Have you personally had an issue over-running a regulator?

I've never seen this first hand but, have heard it can happen. I ran on a stock regulator and 255 for over 100k miles ...

Yes, I had it, It runs very well at the beginning when I put it on, it drive normal without a problem in the city, It lasted me like 2 months in perfect conditions, after 2 or 3 months (Can't remember exactly ), When ever I floor it, it goes lean, even in the freeway after 80mph it leans out, and of course in any uphills was leaning out.

At the beginning, I thought it was a tuning issue, But once I posted in Link, and Dave From Link mention the regulator, I swap it and problem solved, but once again, even when it was not holding, on cruising it always work perfect, the problem was on hard accelerations and/or High rpms.
