Hey guys, new member here. Looking for some advice, i've had my 2G 99 Eclipse RS for awhile now and it's been great. Except for last night i pulled in to a gas station to fill up, got back in the car, started up just fine but didn't go anywhere. The car will only start with the clutch disengaged, now when it is started i can move it into any gear, engage the clutch and nothing happens. If i give it gas the motor just spins, i can move it into any gear when the car is off or on and don't get any kind of movement. Checked the clutch cables and they seem fine, any idea what to look for next?

How can i check if the master and or slave cylinders are working properly? The clutch fork moves when i engage/disengage the clutch. The clutch feels about the same, nothing different, no loss in pressure. Comes back up at the same rate and friction.

First guess clutch. Second i would check drive axle, just to make sure it didnt fall apart
My 96' Integra did that as well. Turned a corner and no more go.

Is it possible for the clutch to give out completely like that all of a sudden? Without any sign of slippage beforehand?

Not that im a aware of, but i see no where else to being looking!
Did you every ride the clutch alot? Did you ever do any hard launches?

When you put it in 1st or any gear at that to try and move the car, does it make any different noise your not use to?

can you manually put it into gear from in the engine bay?

Yes, i can move arm the shifter cable is connected to and it moves the shifter. I can move it around from neutral to 2nd to 4th from the engine bay

I did 2 hard launches at maybe 3-4k but that was many months ago. I never rode the clutch too hard either, It doesnt seem to be making any different noises than before.

Maybe a broken shifter mechanism on the inside of the tranny? When you manually put it ingear from the top of the tranny, does it give you the normal feel of going it gear? Only other thing I can think of was already meantioned, main drive axle.

It does, i can somewhat hear the gears being engaged inside the transmission when i play around with the mechanism on top of the trans

If you just sit there with the engine running and let off the clutch can you still put it into any gear that you want?

Ok, then you probably have some sort of clutch issue. Because it is obviously not engaging at all.

If it were me I would start pulling the trans.

Sounds like a clutch problem to me. My buddy had the same issue took the car to the shop and it was a shot clutch and had low clutch fluid too.
