ive been trying to adjust the shift linkages for the past few days. no matter how I do it it just dont seem to work. someone told me that it could be the brackets on the linkages on the transmission since i dont have 1,3,5 but now i dont have any gears unless i shut the car off and then i only have 2,4 but cant put it in gear with it running.it has to be shut off.

i hate this pos and should have never got ride of my honda. never had stupid problems out of it I couldnt fix. Im bout ready to soak it in gas and throw a match on it.its been giving me problems since day 1

drain your trans oil, see if you get any metal shavings in it. i know how you feel man, i went through 3800 dollars worth of transmissions in 2 months. i said f$#@ it and got a shep stage 3 racing trans. it sounds as if your tranny is shot, i wouldnt be suprised if thats the case, the transmissions on these cars suck, especially the 1g's

Sounds like clutch springs may have popped out of the disk

it did it before we drop the tranny and clutch. i just didnt drive it but from my buddys house with only 2nd and 4th figured id adjust em once i put everything back. then i tried and it wouldnt work right.so i know the springs are still in the clutch

A guy told me once he replaced his tranny it was doin it to his car but he said he just replaced the shifter linkages bracket on the tranny. this sound right? im tired of putting money into something I will never get back

but before i dropped the tranny it was smooth as butter to put it in 2nd and 4th and reverse so I dont think my tranny is shot

If it was fine before you pulled it then it could very well be a linkage issue. If you remove the linkage, can you put the tranny into reverse, 2nd and 4th by hand?

So if you get under the hood can you grab the shifter setup and shift it into all 6 gears 1-5 and rev? pressed down to the trans and left and right should be 1-2 then in the middle 3-4 and pulled out 5and rev. let me know if can do that

^^^??? What are you talking about. The 92-94 trans are the strongest of all the dsm trannys. and to the op, welcome to the dumb a$$ dsm world.

this dude that owns this performance shop called Delusion H out where i live said this. he has worked on numerous dsm's, so i figured he would know what he's talking about..

Well i would tear it down inspect everything and go from there, my dsm is parked in the winters so its the time to inspect it all. thats a lof of money but its a dsm, how old is the tranny any work done or not done to it.

first i bought the car. had no 2nd gear. paid 400 for a trans with 70,000 miles and tore through the center diff within 2 weeks. i then went at bought a rebuilt transmission with 5000 miles on it for 800. i THOUGHT that was the end of it, but i grenaded the trans, and exploded the center pin that holds one of the 2 gears in the center diff of my second one, causing everything to seize up. so i said screw it and got the stage 3 trans with a 4 spider diff., which can handle about 600 whp. this one costed me 2500, so we'll see how this goes. i havent fired the car up in almost a month and a half and im itchin to drive it!!

How much pressure do you have in your clutch pedal? May be something with your master cylinder/slave cylinder.

Oh, and welcome to the DSM world.
