1G Timing tensioner arm.

So I bought the bushings for the timing belt tensioner arm because you cant get the arm anymore. The problem is its going on 7 days and the order is still in the "processing" state.

So in case it just takes way too long and I have to get a refund, is there anything else that could be done to get the timing belt centered and stable? Any ideas at all? Modifying a 2g arm as long as the mount point and tensioner pulley mount point is the same?

Maybe you can knock the bushings out of a 2G arm and reuse them.

Maybe @bastarddsm is interested in machining new tensioner arm bushings.
If my mini-lathe wasn't in a box I'd start making them.

Well I would have to take the bushings out of the one I have regardless so that would be a sign of how it would go with taking out 2g bushings and reusing them. That 91 dollars was taken out of my account so the payment isnt processing. Im just giving it some time since I think its coming from Canada and maybe he just forgot to update that it was shipped or whatever.

If its not a pain to push out the bushings and reuse that would be an option, but who knows how long they will make that arm.

If anyone else has any ideas im all ears.

I could make some bushings, but I'm booked pretty solid for the time being. I didn't know these really wore out. My car still has the original stuff, even the tensioner!

It takes a while for them to wear out but when they do you know it. The timing belt in my case is off the cam gears slightly. Had a belt shred which was either caused by the arm or the backing plate being bent slightly which just got worse when the belt shredded bending it even more.

Either way, I dont want any more timing troubles. Ill email the guy I bought some bushings from, maybe he missed the order or something.

I just dont see why Mitsu doesnt sell the bushings and have the person deal with getting them installed. I would probably buy 2-3 pairs just to have them. The bushings are used in the 2g arms which vendors have them listed the arms to work all the way up to the Evo 9.

At least I have a motorcycle to ride in the meantime, especially with fuel prices so high. 10 dollars in fuel for 2 weeks isnt bad.

I had to replace both the arm and front engine mount on mine because they were worn enough to cause the timing belt to mistrack.

Thats overlapping off the back of the gear. I dont know if thats why my belt ended up in 3 pieces, or if the backing plate was bent because I had to get a new one of those. I dont know if the backing plate (also called trigger plate) was bent before, or if the belt flopping around bent it or bent it further.

I have to check to see if a gasket is behind the front engine mount which can throw the belt out even more. I dont think it is though but I have to get down to that point anyways.

Either way, the arm has probably never been replaced and its a cause so might as well fix it. Everything else is good. The little that I did run it after having to replace my head it was smooth, but im not running it anymore until I get these bushings. Sending an email today just to see if it was sent. They were in stock, so there isnt anything more to do than throw it in a flat rate box with my address on it and send it on its way. Just making sure that was done.

Well, im currently going through the process of a chargeback to get my money back since I cannot get in touch with the guy. Doesnt check emails and apparently doesnt care about his business. Dont know the policies on here so I wont put them on blast, though I think people should steer clear.
