Yeah, thats another option. I will say that it was a success in centering my timing belt so its tracking properly. It might not be "exactly" centered, but the belt probably moved about 1/8 inch which is quite a lot.Not the best pictures to show...

I had ordered the Oilite bushings but after almost 6 weeks or so I got a refund. The bushings from 90-99 looks to be the same, and if listings are correct the 2h arm is also the same that the evos use up through 9? I think. The bushing isnt a...

The only reason im working on it is to get it back to how it should be so there isnt any reason the timing belt should shred. The arm was basically flopping like a fish. The bushings and even the stud that the arm goes on is worn. Cant get the...

I was able to get some new bushings and Im cleaning and doing any maintenance and was wondering if the arm is supposed to be flat, or have a dimple in it.Is the dimple supposed to be on the arm where the hydraulic tensioner makes contact or is...

Well, im currently going through the process of a chargeback to get my money back since I cannot get in touch with the guy. Doesnt check emails and apparently doesnt care about his business. Dont know the policies on here so I wont put them on...

I have a Haynes book and to be honest, its pretty good. There arent some things in it and all the torque stuff in it that I checked in other places that use the FSM look to be the same. I will reference other stuff all the time though.

There are passages around the cylinders that water flows through. A few of these were plugged on his van so water couldnt circulate properly bad circulation led to water sitting in an area, boiling and causing the system to pressure. A bad head...

My dads van had an overheating issue with it and the pressure was going sky high. I think he used a pressure tester on it. I think with his van it wasnt the head gasket even though he changed both of them, but it was just plugged up so the water...

If the water pump is coming out the timing belt has to come off. At least I dont know any other way of getting the pump out without removing the timing belt. Might as well just tell him to replace the timing belt while its off. And maybe replace...

Thats overlapping off the back of the gear. I dont know if thats why my belt ended up in 3 pieces, or if the backing plate was bent because I had to get a new one of those. I dont know if the backing plate (also called trigger plate) was bent...

It takes a while for them to wear out but when they do you know it. The timing belt in my case is off the cam gears slightly. Had a belt shred which was either caused by the arm or the backing plate being bent slightly which just got worse when...

Well I would have to take the bushings out of the one I have regardless so that would be a sign of how it would go with taking out 2g bushings and reusing them. That 91 dollars was taken out of my account so the payment isnt processing. Im just...

So I bought the bushings for the timing belt tensioner arm because you cant get the arm anymore. The problem is its going on 7 days and the order is still in the "processing" state. So in case it just takes way too long and I have to get a...

My car is just sitting there waiting for some timing belt tensioner arm bushings. Been 5 days and its still "processing". If it comes down to it I'll just have to run it until it dies and get a refund. Who knows maybe they are in my mail box by...

There are many points for a vacuum leak. Those points range from right behind the MAF sensor all the way to the intake manifold and injectors. Using Epoxy to fix leaks could work on solid surfaces or anything that isnt flexible or there is...

Having the fluid between the lines in the reservoir is important for the coolant light to not come on. Check it under the radiator cap. Just take the cap off, take a pic and post it here just to be safe.Fan on passenger side is the engine fan...

The basic stuff is some stuff you already did. Spark plugs and wires, coolant, oil, fuel filter. Those are the absolute first things I would do and making sure the things like the radiator fans work. Check hoses for cracks or hardness.Just to...

Just posting to see updates on the thread. It is good though to get all of the basic maintenance done first. Just dont get overwhelmed with too much information and pace yourself. If you're just starting out its easy to get too much information...

I think there is a difference between YT, Twitter, facebook, 2 of which I dont go on, and a forum like this. Those places are trying to be a digital public square while forums like this would be like going into a parts store. It all depends on...
