My gas pedal is floppy and doesnt open the throttle until its an inch off the floor. I has something to do with that little black box that the throttle cable goes through. Is there any way to fix it or do i have to get a new "black box".

is everything okay on the throttle body itself? have u checked the cable on the tb ?? could be that

yea the throttle body is fine and the cable is hooked up good on there but its the pedal thats floppy .

yeah well sometimes something near the throttle body has gotten loose and the pedal gets floppy. as for the black box are you talking about that thing that goes through the fire wall?

Yes the black box on the firewall that the pedal cable goes through and then goes to the throttle body. I opened it up and its connected but when I pull the cable at the TB, the wheel that the pedal cable is on inside the box sticks and you have to pull it to get tension at the TB again.

I dont have cruise control either so I dont need the box?

Try to get in there and spray some kind of penetrating lubricant on the wheel that is sticking. If you can get it freed up that will most likely fix your problem.

No if you dont have CC get rid of the box. You will aslo need a non CC throttle cable do ditch the box. If your cable is the problem, then getting this cable will fix the problem. A way to test if the problem is the TB or cable is to just remove the cable from the TB and turn the throttle by hand. If it sticks then the problem is your TB. If it snaps back closed like it should, then it is the cable.

The problem is definitley in the black box. Its not as if it sticks really. it just stays there like the spring that makes it retract is broken or something.

You'll need a non cruise cable to get rid of the box then. Buy one from your dealer or the classifieds on here and swap out the throttle cables. whoever did the CC delete should have done that when they removed the CC but apparently didnt feel like doing it properly LOL.

problem fixed. I just had the bracket the bolts to the manifold on the wrong two holes. I moved it over one and its good.
