I just bought this car, first few days I had it would start right up no problems.
Then sometimes I would have to bump the key 2-3 times to get it to start because the pinion would engage the flywheel, then back out but keep spinning, causing the engine to not crank.
Its getting worse. Now I have to crank the car sometimes 30 times to get it to spin enough to actually start.
To be clear, the pinion will engage the flywheel, briefly, then fail to maintain contact, but the motor keeps spinning. Battery tests out fine. and has been recharged. It does this even when being jumped off. Battery terminals have been replaced, simply because the battery terminals that where in there looked janky. Everything battery wise is hooked up.
I tryed looking under the charge piping and battery tray for the ground that bolts to the transmission, but I can't see one.
I am thinking its either a failing starter solenoid, or a the starter isn't properly grounded.
